That redefines the meaning of, "Needs everything". At least the seller is showing the damage.

I bought one worse than that about 15 years ago. Frame had sections of a donor bolted over the rust holes, as well as a donor trunk pan laid inside. Completely gutted and stripped of anything of value. When I got the bolts out of the front fenders to body the frame forward of the firewall fell on the floor. You could tell the car had been driven for some time like too.

Drove to Aline OK, bought a frame and donor body parts and built a car from there.

But - the chalk marks on the firewall survived!
We should have made the frame out of chalk.

Yes, sad to see that. I figure maybe post the VIN in case it shows up again in 1 form or another.

Yes - rosette rivets on the VIN tag started during the '65 model year.

I went back to ebay and enlarged the pic there and they are definitely round head hardware store rivets. There is a shadow around the lower one from a larger rivet in the past too, which almost indicates this isn't the first time this tag has been painted over and then removed. The rosette rivet heads are rather small compared to that paint line.

I'm in awe that this car is going for so much coin. Is it an HO (WS engine code)?

The bid would not be so surprising if BaT was the auction venue, but then again, you don't usually see this type of car on BaT.

Someone may have called and ordered the PHS. I'm thinking they haven't noticed the rivets, or have a better body to drop all drivetrain into and don't care. At first glance, with all the paint, I didn't really pay attention either, but then, I'm not a bidder, or I would have.
