I haven’t bought a new Corvette since my ZR1 34 years ago. My favorite Corvette body style is still the mid-years. Be warned though - if you take one of the new ones for a test drive - you just might decide that you’ve gotta have it! It happened to me!

I like the new C8's, and I get the disdain for Chevy going mid-engine, but they're amazing cars. Congrats on getting that beauty!

I think the red with tan interior look good together. Nice ride 👍

Thanks guys. We’re getting some nice weather, so I’m able to put some miles on it. The break in period for the Z06 is 500 miles - can’t wait!

Awesome Corvette. I know all about a late mid life crisis. I picked up a ZL1 Camaro a few weeks ago because on my late mid life crisis.

Nice 'Vette (and ZL1.) I opted for a different route with my midlifer. Obviously not a corner carver (not bad though) but it sure pulls hard in a straight line. Lots of room and very comfortable a bonus.

My 2/3-life crisis car/retirement gift. Still going strong at 1,898 miles as of last week.

My car was ordered with the optional wheels (dealer installed), but I also received the original standard factory wheels with the car. So, I had the extra set of standard wheels powder coated black. I kinda like it better with the black wheels versus the look with the optional wheels that I posted initially in this thread.

I have to say that it's a beautiful Corvette no matter what wheels you have, but I kinda like the first set (though my opinion doesn't matter). I get that a lot of people like black wheels, they're just not for me.

How do you like it overall? A couple friends of mine have C8's and they love them.

Bruce: In hiindsight, anything you would have ordered differently on this?

Lynn - maybe Z07 for future resale value, but I’m really happy with the car as configured.

Bill - that’s just an old Ford.

Great car! I like the bronze wheels better.

I would not get a Z07 unless I was going to track it. It's quite a bitter stiffer than a standard Z06.

Any issues with the reflection of the natural dash on the windshield yet?

How about a long term update; well medium term maybe?

Any issues? Any buyer's remorse?

Not a lot of miles on it yet Lynn. I love it so far. Can't wait for the good weather to get more seat time. No buyer's remorse. My classic cars are great, but performance and comfort of this car can't be beat.

Bruce.
I would really be interested in your thoughts and opinions of the Z06 and the GT after driving them back to back.

Yes Lynn - Ford GT and Z06 are both a blast to drive. My GT has the upgraded pulley and exhaust, so performance is about the same. Being “old school” like most of you, I do enjoy driving the 3 pedal GT a little more. Both are comfortable. The GT is a little more of a challenge getting in & out of, but very minor. The only “investment” issue with the Z06 is that GM (in typical fashion) will keep producing them until there is no apatite left. Ford made 4,000 GTs (my version) over a 2 year period (05 & 06) and then they broke the molds.

Great thread, can’t believe I just saw this! My daily driver/midlife crisis car is a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk! 707hp, whether I need it or not. I need it! I’m not smart enough to post pics, but it is a one year only color called Rhino, with the demonic red leather interior!
