Fuel pump stamp oppinions

I’m looking for some opinions and information on the following fuel pump stamp. It is an AC embossed fuel pump. Has anyone else seen a stamp like this? Is it assembly line installed or an over the counter replacement? What year does it translate as?

Yours make sense. The 1st 2 are letters, "I" "I" which is as you say Sept 1969. The original that is posted I have no knowledge on. Originally they were 2 letters (month & year). Later changed to 3 numbers (julian date) & 1 letter which was the year....Joe

In the back of older warehouse versions of AC fuel pump catalogues there were tables or charts to decode those long numbers to figure out what number pump to sell your customer. Sometimes that would come up to 40727, but if it was an older pump, a superceded pump number would be listed. As a parts man who started in the 60's, I'm saying that was an assembly line pump.

Thank you all for the responses. So far I have 2 responses that think it is an assembly line part. The rest are confirming that early pumps were 2 letters for month and year. Later on it definitely changed. Please keep the responses coming. I'd like to continue the learning and maybe get a definitive answer on this particular pump.

Couldn't tell from the photos, but does it have the "heart" on the bottom? Not sure when this started but it seems most have it.

From all the pictures, it looks like the assembly line pumps have the more square "0" and the replacement pumps have the more oval "0".
