I got up this morning and decided to take the ZL1 on a mountain run. It was a little over 100 miles to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway just below Ashville NC. I drove 110-120 miles round trip on the Parkway. I put 325-330 miles on the car today.
It was my first time doing something like that in my Camaro. It was a blast. I don't have a camera or a phone mount that I could put the phone in to make videos. I did stop and take a few pictures.
I saw several other performance cars, including two Camaros, while I was there. There was one group of five imports with the big wings on the back. There were quite a few motorcycles.
The only thing I didn't like about the ride was getting behind other vehicles that were driving slow. There are no passing lanes so you have to pass when you think you have enough room.

Yes, beautiful car and area. My wife and I drove our '38 to Shades of the Past several years ago and took 1 day to drive around in the Great Smokey Mountains. Quite the experience viewing that vast, open, nature.

One of my favorite areas of the country, was there six weeks ago. One of my best Chevelle/Corvette pals lives in a valley overlooked by the Parkway NE of Asheville, been in his family for two hundred years.

I drove through 8 or 9 tunnels just like that one on the trip.

Richard, just inside the British Columbia border from Alberta, Canada in the Rocky Mountains. Stunning area!! Lots of neet history to read up on. The rail goes underground to get through this pass.

If you ever get a chance to visit, do it!!

A couple links to check out.
