Minding my own business and I get a message from Grant about a rare Firebird on Facebook marketplace Thursday. Went and looked at it yesterday. Was 82 miles from me. Seller stated in the ad to buy it and drive it home. Long story short. He drove it the 82 miles a couple hours ago in summer heat with no issues. Really cool car with great history. The seller had gotten it from his friend that bought it new. Nicely optioned but odd no hood tach. Orig. owner to the seller that in his neighborhood in Oakland it would have gotten stolen .

I love that car, Charley. Sold in your backyard. The black plates and smog pump are cool, too. Did the extra can of paint come with the car? What a strange note to put on the paperwork.

Nice car..interesting the special paint cowl tag !

I parted out an all original 69 vert that was orange with white top and gut. I still have the original plastic protecto-plate that looks like a credit card. I assume that orange was a factory color in 69?

Wonder what the extra qt of paint was for? I’m guessing ‘just in case’ since it was not a standard color?

I'm wondering if the original owner requested the tach not be installed? It was normally part of the gauge package. Maybe he got a credit for that?

My humble opinion polish the paint , clean the interior , and leave the rest alone . What a cool car . Finders fee ?
