Thoughts are with all those that have been affected, and those that will be as it continues traveling north.

We lost power on Pine Island for about 4 hours yesterday. Was pretty amazing the power crews were on the island during the hurricane and working.

My friends son works for a local utility contractor and they sent 10 bucket trucks and crews to Florida Tuesday. They’ll be there and or Georgia for weeks.

Best of luck to everyone in it's path!

All good here in Naples; no real rain and a few decently strong gusts, but that's about it. Sure beats Ian, and prayers for those heavily affected.

Family members in St. Petersburg area all well and no damage but many were hit extremely hard due to storm surge and was the worst ever recorded in many areas including St. Pete.

Pics of minor flooding on Fort Meyers Beach again, but not too bad. Hoping the people in the direct path get thru it OK.

We had a VRBO booked on Pine Island before Ian nearly leveled it and we had to find another place on the Atlantic side.

Some significant flooding in Atlanta with over 6 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. My daughter's house had 6 feet of water in the garage and crawl space. Will be a real mess to clean up. Luckily they were able to move their cars out before the water rose too high.

Why is that?

We're chilling and waiting for Milton, so appreciate any extra prayers you all have that the wind damage and flooding is minimal, thanks.

Because they want to control everything. FEMA is a joke and should have been disbanded years ago. We the People need to tell them to get the hell out of the way for the REAL relief supplies coming from the private sector, while they fumble f**k around, trying to figure out what to do.

Mark, you and everyone on that West coast need all the prayers and help you can get. This is nuts to have another hurricane right on the heels of Helene, let alone one that could be even stronger than Ian...:frown:

Thanks, Mitch. It's a little daunting right now, but we're praying for the best.

Not sure if anyone watches Cleetus McFarland, but he was up in NC right after Helene went through and used his helicopter to rescue people and deliver medicine and supplies. What they're facing is hard enough to recover from, let alone having the Fed Govt doing things against the best interests of the suffering people.

Stop spreading rumors,at a time when human beings need help, not made up social media rhetoric. https://www.wyff4.com/article/fema-greenville-sc-downtown-airport-rumors/62533885

....Meanwhile, at the Greenville Downtown Airport,False rumors claim that FEMA helicopter contractors were impeding Helene relief supplies from taking off last week."The airport made a place for them to land and to stage their helicopters so that they could be responsive when called upon by FEMA,"Director James Stephens said."That placement of the helicopters on this airport did not impact our airport operations in any way".Stephens said the airport's secondary runway, where the helicopters were positioned,is used less than 10% of the year.He added that the social media rumors affected those contractors."They were put at risk by some social media posts that were put out publicly, and they had to evaluate that risk to see whether or not they needed to stay here,"Stephens said.
U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C.,who represents part of Western North Carolina. He also weighed in on the rumors and conspiracy theories floating around."Those rumors are totally unsubstantiated",he said."It's so unfortunate that at a time like this, where we need to be pulling together and being truthful and working on real solutions,we've got some nefarious folks out there."

My son is a utility lineman. He left home over two weeks ago and has been on the move ever since. He staged in Ocala Florida for Helene. He was then sent for a week to Spartanburg SC. Last night the were sent to Charleston SC to await the storm to move thru and then they will be based in Orlando. Prayers to all people affected, first responders, and volunteers. America is truly in need right now.
In spite of people in dire straights, he said people are coming out and hugging them and crying as they restore the power. He said it is quite emotional.

Thank your son for all of us affected by the storms Stihl. Those first responders and the utility people are truly heroes.

Oh, and anyone who thinks that the govt doesn't at least have some effect on the weather hasn't been paying attention. There is massive evidence of cloud seeding as well as other ways that govt tried to alter the weather. No idea how advanced they are and how much they are able to influence storms, but it's impossible to rule out the govt's involvement completely.

Post-Milton review for Naples and surrounding SWFL, and we got through relatively unscathed, which was a major miracle. From what I have read and seen, the most damage was from the storm surge on the coast (of course), as well as the tornadoes that were spurred off of the hurricane, and that damage is brutal in some instances. Prayers for everyone affected, but overall it was pretty miraculous for the state of Florida.

Glad that didn't get your place.
Looks like about an EF3 + to be tossing cars around like that.
