When you bought a used Chevrolet that was still under warranty, did they issue you a new warranty book? I know that they issued a new protecto plate, would they insert it in the old book or a new one? I am specifically asking for 1965 but I am sure that it would be the same for other years. Thank you!

My 1968 has a "New Book" and a Warranty Protect-o-Plate

In 65, they would pull of the first owners tape and put the 2nd owners on the plate. sometimes remove the imprint section if it had the first owners info on it. Did that into 67. The 2nd owners plate came out in 67 but wasn't always used. The replacement warranty books first came out in 64 and could be used for the 2nd owner or if the first was lost. Usually if it was lost is what I've seen.

As I understand it, the dealer was supposed to issue a new POP with less information embossed on it. It was stamped in red "replacement" and the new owners name and address were on it. This was not always done and when done, the POP was stamped at the dealership. The replacement POP really isn't official documentation because it can be forged, and it was done by the dealer. No build codes for the driveline or trim and paint codes were included on the replacement POP.
