Saturday night when I got back to my room at 11pm, I felt run down and exhausted. I attributed it to having been at the show and working some for 15 hours, so ignored it. Sunday morning, I felt better and went back to the show about 8-8:30, but by 11 am, I knew something was off, as I was now light headed and nauseous. I grabbed my stuff and got out of there before I interacted with anymore people and went home. By Tuesday, I had a temp of 101 all day and my wife was now beginning to have the same early symptoms I had. Our home test kits are expired, but reading about the latest symptoms online, it certainly seems like that is what I had and brought home.
I hope no one I was around those 3 days picked this up from me. I don't know if I got it there or at the Road Dawg restaurant in Beloit on my way in Thursday morning.

That sucks. The last two times I had Covid I used Paxlovid and it knocked it right out. I could feel the difference within hours.

Thanks Charlie, never knew of it. Reading about it, seems we are a little late for it to help much now. I look at it as I'm building my natural immunity to it..
My wife and I flew from MPLS to Phoenix and drove down to Tucson for 2 weeks in Feb of 2020 and then flew home...uh huh...only a few weeks before all hell broke loose. We were very sick shortly after we returned and later realized we had contracted the original virus and it was nasty. I've only had mild symptoms from subsequent variances since and this was only uncomfortable for 3 days. Pretty much back to normal already.

I think you were on your way out the door when I stopped you to talk for just a bit. Hopefully, I didn't get anything. I have had it three times.

Hope you are better soon.

You would know by by now, this crap came on quickly. I got home at 6pm Sunday and my poor wife knew she had contracted it by Wednesday morning...:frown:

Mitch
Hope you have a quick recovery. You and I were in close proximity several times, I am fine so far. To date I have dodged the COVID bug where everyone in the family has had it.

Good to hear you are OK, Paul. I haven't heard from Lloyd yet. I worked quite closely with him on photography for a number of hours.
I may have picked this up at the hotel too, there was some anime type convention for Day's of the Dead, with a lot of people in gross costumes.

I've had it twice. Both times it was more like a sinus/head congestion and felt a little run down with no fever. I never experienced it to the level that some have.

FWIW, I have heard the test kits are actually good for one year after expiration.

I got it Tuesday and was in Ohio. Must be around again. First two days had aches and then congestion the third day. Today my temp was normal. Started paxlovid Wednesday and seems to be working. My first time getting it

A little update on this. I "thought" I was over, whatever I had, last Friday,as I felt almost normal. As the weekend progressed into Monday, I knew I was slipping back and by yesterday, I was in the shop, moving tires/wheels around to get snow tires on our cars and I kept having to stop, sit down and catch my breath...very unusual for me and I found it more irritating than concerning, as I wanted to get done with mounting/balancing 4 tires for my Highlander. About 3:30 my wife came out to the shop to see how I was feeling and said I looked like death warmed over. So I went in and we took my temp which was slightly higher than usual, but still under 100, but the finger pulsox meter indicated my pulse was 103... We put on masks and went to the Urgent Care and I said I thought I was relapsing with covid and could I get a dose of Paxlovid ? After having all the "check in" procedures, the DR listened to my lungs and asked more questions about the previous week of feeling ill and ordered a lung xray. She said there was no way to determine what I initially had, whether covid or a chest cold, but after the x-ray, informed me that I now had progressed into pneumonia and was ready to send me over to the hospital, strap my butt in a bed and get me started on IV anti-biotics !! I may have mentioned something like "over my dead body", and she agreed to send me home with 2 prescriptions and strict orders that if I wasn't better in 3 days, I would need to come back and be admitted.

So bottom line, I may not have had, or subjected others to, covid after all, but there is no way to know that now. I don't see where the people I most closely interacted with have had an issue, so for that I am relieved.

Geez Mitch take care of yourself. That sure progressed.
I just saw a message from my Dr that had what Paxlovid was going to cost. $1360 for 5 days. 3 pills twice a day. With my insurance it was 360. I do think it worked.

I was of the opinion whatever I was struggling with, was a self inflicted issue:wink: I know a few others that came home with C19. Ironically, each of those flew in.

Hope you are doing better Mitch!

Thanks, guys, 24 hours later, I feel better already. My energy level has improved and I'm looking forward to throwing tires around again tomorrow. We had wind driven snow on and off most of the afternoon that made the roads slick and both our DD's need their winter shoes put on.
