1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo · Coupe (Chop Top) · Driven 112,000 miles $8,500.00
Couple of answers-
1. No, I did not cut the top off, I took the car in trade that way. The guy that traded it to me stated that he cut the top off because it was rusted under the vinyl top. He also made a snap on rain top for when its parked outside.
2. It has not been braced, but it is not twisted, either needs hard top replaced or needs the convertible top added with bracing.
3. Original paint, never been painted. One 4x4" rust area under passenger rear seat, one small rust area on pass rear quarter and a few bubbles just starting over pass rear fender well. Some pitting in trunk pan. Car is solid in jams and otherwise.
4. Original, born with 402 Big Block and TH400 transmission, transmission was rebuilt at a local shop by me (was slipping) and is under warranty. Fluids changed and no issues with engine. Replaced the carburetor, and the original one is in the trunk. Replaced the AC Compressor (old one was not original, so I did not keep it).
5. Yes, the black rust free top in the pics come with the car to put back to a hardtop.
6. Problems - Not many, RH hood hinge weak, slight bend in hood (spare hood comes with car), battery disconnect switch because battery will drain over time and finally, typical chevy issue where starter gets hot and has to cool. Speedometer has a "tick" and jumps. AC needs new inside fan or other issue with blower. That's it.
1972 Monte Carlo Custom, "chop top", #Match 402 Big Block, TH400 transmission (rebuilt and under warranty), minimal rust and original paint so you know what your getting, nothing hidden. Comes with spare top in case you want to put back to hardtop. Comes with snap on rain top. Also comes with spare hood from the same car.
Where else can you find a numbers match big block, orange flame, running driving classic for under 10k?
Dm for details or call 504-913-3618. Crager's do not go with the car, you can have the 72 Z28 rims/tires and the original rally's.
