Pics are from March 78.
Bought car west of Atlanta summer 77.
Had a damaged front end and had been repainted early in life.
Hood was fine but I added the cowl hood when I fixed the front.
GM had everything it needed still available fall of 1977

Question is I noticed it only had straight rocker molding.
No door top- wheel well etc moldings???
Car was a RS for sure with backups and the headlight covers sorta worked. Damage restricted the RH door.

Was this just an odd package or were some moldings removed before I owned it.

Plain interior.
No PS or PB.
Did have a spoiler that sure looked factory and emblem was above it.

Tac- gauges with 6,000 redline
Drivetrain was L78 M22 and 3.73 12 bolt posi.
Multi leaf strings. Took the 4bbl off and put a 67 427 435 3x2 setup on it. Liked the 67[tall] setups with 440 Mopar end carbs.
Ran well.

Car is LOOOONG gone so nothing can be checked.
Looking at pics now has me scratching my head.
What say you?

Been digging on this and it is looking like things were changed in old repaint.
Thought there would be some Camaro folks here?

Pics here are from March 78 after getting it back from painter.
It had front damage and entire car got repainted.
First repaint was poor quality.

Never much of a Camaro guy and I only had this one summer.
Took 3x2 off and gave buyer the stock hood.

The painter should have seen were the rs trim holes were filled/welded shut. If no evidence of trim holes, it was probably converted to the rs front and rear.

No way to check.
Do not recall him saying anything and there would have been no reason to grind to metal there.
No damage other than nose.

Crappy repaint was smooth- just blotchy looking metallic.
Sure it was enamel and he painted it with enamel.

Sounds like it was not simply leaving some trim off.

FWIW there is no way now to verify if it had it's factory motor- tranny as numbers was not an issue then with this car.
Just a cheap used car with damage.
Looked stock but??

Thanks

The RS lower rocker is a 3 piece set. Looks to have been replaced. The doors are easy to get working again…usually it’s just a split vacuum hose. The rear mounding spear should be noticeably angled. Picture added for reference.

Thanks all,
Clear and concise is not a strong point with me.

This is- was trying to figure out what had been done- not done to a car I only owned for a year 1977- 1978. Was looking at old pics of it and the trim made no sense. After bothering 3 different forums it looks like it was not a RS package car.
Had been painted prior to me buying it and no way to check anything. I dought there were any trim holes filled in and I did not know that would be needed.

Personal mystery solved and sorry for any bother.
