Thought I would start a small thread on what I think is the coolest tire of the muscle car and post muscle car era, the Formula 1 Super Stock. Here are some photos I’ve collected, a couple being of my SC Rambler with N50-15’s out back, but if anyone has any feel free to add them.
There’s plenty of other cool tires from this era too, so feel free to post those. I’ve seen ads for Big Boss 60’s, but they don’t seem to have been very popular.

Great idea. I'd love it if Coker brought these back

I asked Rusty Tires about that at MCACN and he said he wasn’t even sure who held the copyright for them at this point. I agree though. I’d love to see them available so I don’t have to drive around on questionable 50ish year old ones.
Every time I drive I feel like the below meme

That would be a trademark issue.....and you can't just "hold" the trademark. They do expire and have to be renewed. Finally, the trademark has to be "used" as opposed to "held". No "use" and it can be lost is my understanding.
Sorry - not a cool pic contribution to this thread w/my posting. Please "bury" my comment w/more cool pics!

All of those pics are cool, but that '68 Firebird and C2 Vette are just killer 70's Street Machines.

It wouldn’t be terribly difficult to fabricate a set of stencils and just paint them onto a nice, fresh set of new tires. The advantage to this would be you could letter up something really sticky to lay down some power. It would be a fun project!

here is a 72 trans am that i raced back in the 80's with them.
I've been considering using this Man who makes tire lettering & sent me a quote last year, for a specific RWL project of tire lettering onto a brand new set of tires. He's very professional & responded quickly. He's specializes in tire lettering and seems reputable from many I've talked to who used him on Fbook & were very satisfied. His prices seemed fair I thought. https://tredwear.com/tire-kits/branded-tire-lettering/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR35f1B8e7Iom-ycReOSGQZv9JcsFj_Dx4kR0Q40WgQt4B1wx-ZPZwje7jU_aem_exeg7N2qU3j06DLBpNY_xA

i loved them and had them on my trans am in high school. this is a picture that i drew on the back cover of one of my school books of my trans am. you can see the formula 1 super stock tires. on the last week of school my senior year we were turning in our books and i decided i would keep this picture so i said i lost the book, paid for it and then tore the back cover off of it. i still have it after 46 years.

My word, I loved those tires. I used to lust over them. I ended up with a set of GoodYear G60 tires for my 442 that I bought from Nickey after they turnd into a parts only dealership. That was '73 or '74.

Couple more I’ve hunted down.
Both that Trans Am and the Shelby GT500 must’ve been owned by the owner or employees because both those cars appear in multiple ads. I wonder where that GT500 ended up.

Five wing cars in this picture. Very cool 😎!
The black Z28 appears in two of the adds. It looks as if the rear fenders are a bit flared in the "car hop" picture.

Did these come in E60-15? Not that it matters, since I won't run 50 year old tires, but the vision I have for my car is E60s in the front, L60s in the back. If they ever repop these, I'm in trouble.

A kid who used to pick me up at the buss stop and bring me to school w a black big block yenko nova had those on his car. I bought his old rupp mini bike and after that he’d always stop and give me a ride to school he was always late going to high school. He was a “ trouble kid “ he then. Graduated to pro tracks like the rest of us.
Super gloss Black Nova , Big ass cragars jacked up to the sky, skinny’s up front , chrome side pipes , garter belt on the steering column tach. Car was so bad ass. Lots of chrome under the hood and a tunnel ram.
The Firestone 500 really started that white letter craze.
I wanna see more pictures of that vette and that firebird w the bad azz paint Now
Woody of woodys auto body in newbritain CT painted a lot of those cars he did a lot of the funny cars of the 60s one of his cars was even in a photo shoot w Stevie nicks in CT . And he painted one of Paul Newman’s cars.
I did some re work on one of his cars Newman’s also. Woody also painted my RAIV firebird.but that sank the thread this is tires.
Raised white letters are making a bit of a comeback right now oddly enough

The picture of the El Camino was taken in a town not too far from where I live. Ostersund. In the 80s a friend of mine bought it and it was in my hometown. Last I heard about it it was in Gothenburg. 71 LS5

It it s way cool car. Custom paint is over 40 years old and done in lacquer. It's not a 100% "period" Day 2 car because the owner has just consistently added the latest and greatest speed parts and accessories over the years and used whatever was popular at the time of installation. It's got a wicked small block with super high compression and sounds amazing.
Tried to post a video of the car running, but this site is so archaic in it's ability to post photos and videos it won't allow me to do it unless I post a link to youtube or something (which I don't have), so you'll have to settle for the pics it took 10 minutes to individually upload.

I know this is about tires but what is the brand name and producer of these rims? I always liked these. TIA Phil.
It looks like they may be Cragar Mach 8’s Phil.
