Sometimes the stories are as good or better than the cars.
A few decades ago a friend of a friend, at age 16, bought a gold '70 W-30 4 speed. He set the original engine and trans aside in favor of a hotter setup. While he was deployed in the military his dad sold the car.
Fast forward to Christmas 2024. He still has the original engine/trans, but hasn't seen the car in decades. The wife tells him "Hook up your trailer, we're going on a road trip. Just do it" The GPS is set from NE IA to somewhere in KY.
When they arrived in Kentucky they found the Olds in pretty much the same condition as when sold long ago. So now, thanks to the wife, the Olds is back in Iowa with plans for restoration using the original powertrain.
