Thought some of you might enjoy a couple of Dad's old car club items that have managed to make it through the ages. His Head-Aches club jacket remains with the 409 (oil stains and all) and both Dave and I have Head-Aches license plates in our garages that Dad made in High School foundry shop class. I'm not sure is Cousin Eddie was a member or not. When I Google "Head Aches car club Chicago" nothing comes up......

That is some cool off the chain stuff! I collect Chicago area car dealership memorabilia and other automotive stuff from Chicago like this. I have several of those plates from my area. What neighborhood did your dad grow up in? This club would have been in his immediate neighborhood.

Frank, our Dad went to high school at Lane Tech. I believe he made these car club plates in shop class at Lane Tech.
He grew up on North Lawndale Ave in Chicago.

I shared the jacket pic on my FB in case my local friends are familiar. I live across the street from Lane Tech.

What time frame are we talking, local friend asked. He's 67 and his dad was active in the scene too, and he's mid 80s.

Our Dad would have been 16 years old in 1958, so 1958 through the 1960’s.

Checking with Paul S, mid 80s he said he might have a buddy who remembers the club. Might take a while.

I went back and look through Dad's memories he wrote at the beginning of the thread for the 409. He said Eddie was a member and that the club only lasted a few years until it went away - so probably not a lot of information out there.
