Going through photos on this site in another thread I found a photo of a Nova classed BX/S.
I’ve tried figuring out what organization ran this class and have tried to find more pictures of this Nova but have so far been unable to. Though I don’t have Facebook, so maybe more photos exist on there.
Does anyone know anything more about this car? I’m using it as a basis to build my Rambler and would love more photos of this car and ones like it.

I’m assuming BX/S is B engine class, Experimental/Stock, but I haven’t found any NHRA stuff like that. Maybe someone here has more info.

Thanks.

This is a Chevy II that raced out of Canada as evidenced by the Gorries name on the door which was a Toronto Chevrolet dealership. Also Dragging Unlimited was a Toronto Speed Shop. This explains why you are seeing an unusual drag class denoted on the car.

Gorries badges - metal for regular cars, sticker for Corvettes.

Too bad the pictures are not better quality. Trying to blow up the signage on the sides distorts them too much to read.
I lived 10 minutes from Dragging Unlimited and often bought parts there.

My experience with experimental class was the car was denoted for engine size first as in AF/X for factory/experimental per NHRA rules. My '70 SS LS5 454 was always shoved in that class if I wasn't running bracket, and I had no chance against the LS6 cars. I quickly decided to run dial in and maybe get a little money, if I won.
