I was looking at an old Hot Rod article of when the 1970 Z/28 was first introduced and I noticed that the car did not have tower hose clamps on the radiator hoses. When did tower hose clamps get phased out and what was the next style of clamp used for the hoses?

Many GM cars used them into the late 80's mainly on smog. See them on Ebay all the time.

I had a 1973 Corvette that i bought new heater hoses had tower type clamps on the engine side, but the heater core side had worm type, radiator had worm type. Small block with air conditioning.

Maybe it's only on Corvettes?
