plan on retiring from full time work in 30 months. at that time I'm sure I'll become the bus drive for my Grandkids, so I just bought their new school bus.
unrestored original. looks like the hood and cowl have been painted other than that it looks to be original paint. it cleaned up nice! tomorrow I'll clean the inside.

Is that floor mounted switch alongside the seat on the drivers side for an auxiliary fuel tank?

Yes, from what I was told original owner put 2 auxiliary tanks on left and right in 73 or 74 during the gas crisis. from what I remember (I was 7 or 8) you could only get gas certain days of the week according to your last name. guess he didn't want to run out.

I knew it was a control to switch tanks, but I couldn't see any way to fill them. That is a really sneaky way to hide more tanks.
I was thinking the instrument panel looked too nice to be original and now I'm thinking the whole thing has been replaced when the tach was added. The cruise appears to be a genuine OTC kit, installed after too. The black gear selector housings on the column should have been blue too and appear to have replaced originals that were prone to fading and cracking and the white letters losing their color.
Still a Super nice truck and I would leave the full wheel covers on it. Too many have the rally wheels now and this one stands out as original....:worship:

actually the instrument panel is original. the tach was added right after the original owner bought it. he also owned it for 43 or 44 years. the cruise was added in 1977

If you got an open trailer you could tow the 1969 Chevelle to local shows!!! That would be something to see!!!

Wow! What an amazing truck! And so original. Very nice! Congrats.
You will have to get a vintage trailer and tow the Chevelle behind it.
