I am curious as to what is scheduled to attend the Special Collection at Vette Fest. We are taking Gary Bakers Rally Green 69 Yenko Camaro, Also I am taking my Daytona Yellow 69 Yenko Camaro, and a freind Tom K from NJ is taking his 1970 Yenko Deuce in red. What else is on the hot list? It should be getting pretty good..

Well, I guess At least part of the Wisconsin contingent will have to commit first Brian. Jim Parks plans to bring his '67 Yenko, Bob Trez his '68 Yenko, and my plan at this time is to bring a '71 Baldwin-Motion Camaro. Now, who else?

I have heard of the large group of Yenko Deuces coming out.. What about other cars? The early rumor has been a large group, 40+ specials. Tom are you going? It would be a great promotional tool. I will help out if you like. Can you get me some flyers?

Brian - Is this the event you are talking about?

Kevin, was the blue Motion Vette you have bought from Chandlers collection? If so that car was from my hometown when new up until the 80's sometime.

Micky, very interesting, then you must have seen it there before, as yes it was from Chandler's collection. It is still very original, only a repaint. It currently has new wheels and tires that Chandlers guys put on it. But I have the original Anson mags and original positraction tires that came with it (I will be re-installing them). Lots of paperwork, Original Baldwin invoice and Motion performance invoice, tank sticker, and other memoribilia, etc. What a beast to drive. Sets off car alarms from cars parked in the parking lots, blasted from the side exhaust, LOUD!!!

Thats it, it very rarely made it out, I can remember in the summers only being out a few times, but its a looker. The orig. owner passed away maybe a year ago or so. Neat ride!!

It is the Oct 2000 issue. It is my 68 Yenko. Mike Mueller is the author whom used old photos when the car belonged to Mick. There is also a new book out called "CAMARO" by James A. Dietzler which also has interior and engine pictures of this car. (Also my DANA Camaro, Baldwin Motion Camaro, and Baldwin Motion Vette in that book)
Brian; I am going to try and make Chevy/Vettefest, am not for sure what I will take, maybe the Vega and/or Camaro. I was wondering what you can tell me about the show, where is everyone staying, parking (trailers), who do we need to contact to show a "supercar, etc. Any info appreciated. If I cannot make it, I will try and get you some flyers for the 2001 Supercar Reunion.

The number to call is 708-563-4300. Tell them that you want to be part of the Super Car Collection though Gary Holub. The event is free if you do not want your car judged. Hotel info is at 1-800-233-1234. The event is for November 18th and 19th with Friday as a set up day. It sounds as if it will be a good event...

Charley and others, I'm interested in meeting Yenko.net people as well as some 2nd Gen people from the popular "Mad Mike" site.
I'm thinking of wearing some form of trade show I.D. name badge with Yenko.net included.
I know this is much too dumb for most others to agree with, so I'm interested in anyone elses opinion!!!!!! Chuck S / Seattle

I will be there, no car though. We should try to set up a place to meet. Its not that big, so it wont be too hard to find anybody.

I'll be there too. Almost was bringing my 67 Yenko, new restoration from Daves Auto in Kentucky. But after considering it was 4,200 miles round trip for just the weekend, I changed my mind. Seattle is just to far away from all the good shows. Look forward to seeing you guys I already know, and meeting more. (Maybe not the guy that called these cars Yenko Circus Wagons tho). Kevin

Are any of you show goers/ participants interested in wearing Custom Computer printed "SUPERCAR" or Yenko.net name badges?
I would try to print something up and buy those plastic pin on holders that you get at trade shows, reunions, etc.......next problem where to pick them up....maybe by someones car??? Chuck / Seattle

I just returned from Chevy-Vettefest in Chicago. WOW !!! Great display of Yenko Camaros/Novas, COPO's, ZL-1's, etc. The special collection included other Chevrolet built muscle cars and they had their own area, seperate from the main show. Nice cars, everyone.
I just returnd as well. The special collection was simply incredible. http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/laugh.gif It was great to see a lot of the guys from this site and finally put a face with a name.

Ahh I think the whole thing sucked. Just kidding. I had never even seen a Yenko Deuce in real life and then I see 7 in a row. I think I saw everyone except those Stinkin Clarey's. Where were they ? I had to jump on a plane before the Awards got done, who won what ? What did I win ? Oh yeah I didn't bring a car. I have pics I could post if someone wanted to tell me how.

We are kind of "bummed" we didn't get to make to Chi-town this weekend http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif. We got SWAMPED here at work, and haven't even been by the shop in a week or two. The original plan was to take our Vega, then the plan was for dad to drive up after work Saturday, but then that got shot down, so we worked all weekend. It sounds like it was a great show though!

Congrats to Larry! The yellow car "is the cat's meow".

Sorry I had to miss the show, but, as Rob mentioned, work got in the way. Glad to hear that a "supercar" won the Top Gun award, but not surprising, considering the quality of supercars that I had heard were in attendance. In the future, I think that we will see more and more of these major events wanting us to be a special part of their shows. With all of the media coverage the supercars have received the last couple of years, promoters are starting to realize what we always knew, that the public always has, and always will, want to see these rare musclcars. Glad to hear everyone is looking forward to St. Louis and making plans to attend. I hope to announce some updates on the event within the next couple of weeks. Tom

Hi Tom,I was hoping to meet you and Rob at Chevy/Vette Fest too. It was about the finest bunch of cars and the finest bunch of guys, I have ever been around at a car event. Then throw in the Vettes, of which I also have a keen interest in, it was double the excitement for me. Anxious to see your Nova done; will it be done for the next reunion? Oh by the way I just got a call from Jerry Heasley writer/photographer for speedvision. He had the story on my Nova on www.speedvision.com. He just had a email from the original owner of my car whom claims to have the window sticker for my Nova. I hope this is true, maybe I will have the SS answer from it. I returned the call to Jerry but he wasn't there to answer. Kevin

That is the picture I was referring to when I said it looks like it has an SS grill without the SS emblem.

The show was awesome!!!! I will post some pics when I get them done.
There were 7 '70 Yenko Novas present, and technically all were different colors. The only color missing was Citrus Green, and this is not surprising since only 4 have been found and all are in some state of restoration.
One of the cars was an original paint Sunflower Yellow, 4 speed car with 22k miles and is still with the original owner. Another car was a Cranberry Red, 4 speed with the second lowest miles known - 11k! There was also a Cortez Silver car there with an NOS set of Atlas Mag wheels with correct centercaps!
Definitely a super show, it was good meet a lot of really nice people I had only known through their Yenko.net board names.
M
Kevin; Sorry that I was unable to make Chi Town and see everyone. I hope the window sticker thing works out for you. I know you would like to know for sure how your Nova came from the factory. I hope to have my Nova done by the next reunion, but am having to work around someone's (Rob's) Chevelle. Also, I would like to finish my Dick Harrell funny car first, which should not take too much time. Tom
