Have not heard of the L-88 1968's but Allen Green was a well known hipo dealer. They sold the #27 fathom green/black automatic '69 ZL-1 Camaro.

When visiting Seattle a good friend of mine Chuck Sharon showed us the old Allen Green Chevrolet building. Another friend, Don Fezel from PA owns the 63 Allen Green Z11 Impala. It is very sweet. He also owns the Jenkins/Strickler 63 Z11 that will be at Carlisle. This would be a great car to see at the Super Car Reunion, yes....BKH

Dick Tutino was the service manager of Alan Green Chevrolet during it's 60's heydays. I'm not sure if he owned the ZL-1 from day one or the Dealership owned it for a period of time.Tutino even leased the car to Boeing and it was used as a test vechicle involved in the 747 Airliner program. I do know I was the 2nd owner having bought #27 around 1975. Tutino had raced the car as a SuperStock drag car with the T-400 but (not sure what year) converted to Modified Production Drag racing. When I bought car it was Candy Red, had a Chryler 4speed and Dana 60 Diff. I did get boxes of misc parts that had been removed from original car to make lighter. I still have original brake booster, Rear seat, and Heater Box assy. Engine also had tunnel ram with two 4500 Dominator Holly carbs under Aluminum scoop on standard flat hood....all this powertrain was in stock chassis with no roll bar let alone cage or frame connectors.
Torque used to buckle left qtr panel and I would slap the distortion buckle out from inside trunk. I did drive car to a 10:19 myself but a better driver could have done better....anyway I've gone on too long....Dick Tutino is probably still in Seattle area and he could probably tell EVERYTHING about Alan Green Chevrolet, now the site of Glen Grant Chevrolet in Burien,WA immediately south of seattle proper
thanks, chuck sharin

CamaroRus - Do you know how or why Boeing used a ZL1 as a test vechicle involved in the 747 Airliner program? Sounds like an interesting story there.

Somebody, whose screen name I dont recogonize, wrote me E-mail stating that Dick Tutino is living in Mooreshead, S.C. with his son....and certainly Dick should be telling the ZL-1 #27 story....however I "think" that Boeing needed a FAST accellerating vechicle to tow one of those Bicycle looking wheels ...and clock braking distances ???

Brian,
I agree that Don Fezel's Allen Green Z-11 is very sweet. I find it interesting that Don's collection of Z-11s have ties thru the delivering dealerships to later super cars. Don has a Z-11 from Allen Green, a Z-11 from Ammon R Smith, and a Z-11 from Enoch Chevrolet, Enoch became Dana Chevrolet, Green was a Yenko dealer, and Ammon R Smith was the delivery site of some of the first hi-po Novas and Camaros. Very neat.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. I recently bought one of the two 1968 L88 cars built and sold at Alan Green Chevrolet. It would be great to get ahold of someone that was around the dealership during that time. I have a lot of history on the car. Curious if the other one is still around?
