Does anybody have a copy of some paperwork from the NICB, which shows the VIN and the selling dealer? Could you send me a scanned copy?
Amazingly, a police officer friend is actually talking with them. But they are saying there is no way to print what they have and the info by my VIN is blurry. But I know I've seen paperwork from them so I don't believe them. I'd like to see the actual format of the data.

Thanks!

An NICB report will only show the original selling dealer and the day the car was shipped to the dealer from the factory. The records are incomplete and sometime in error. The info is generally only available to certain law enforcement employees.

This information would be especially valuable as a first step in documenting a Baldwin Motion car prior to paying Joel Rosen to authenticate a possible car.

Does anyone know if the NICB paperwork provides information regarding the selling dealer if it is different than the dealer where the vehicle was shipped to? For example, if the car was dealer traded to another dealer prior to being sold. Also, does it provide any information regarding the original owner.

Thanks,
steve

I'm fairly certain only the original dealer the car was shipped to would be shown. No original owner information is tracked.

what is the best or only way to get the NICB to give up any information? Do you have to have law enforcement or will they work with individuals? Is there a number, address or website that will help? Thanks. Tommy

I called them. They will only give info to law enforcement or NICB members (usually registered insurance company personnel). Know any Officers that owe you a favor? ;-)

Anyone try their insurance companies. We pay them for ins so i would think they would provide the info but no doubt for a fee if they did

Tim,
If the insurance company is a member Company (paid subscription) then they can request info. on delivery date and dealership.
The NICB will not release any more than this info to the insurance company.
At least this has been my recent experience.
