As indicated in the eBay description:

quote:
We have the GM Of Canada build sheet to fax to anyone that would be interested. E-mail
[email protected] or call 800-968-4444 x 245 or 220. For $45.00 CDN you can call GM Of Canada for your own original copy of the build sheet, which will verify the authenticity of this COPO Camaro.

It would be really cool if GM in the U.S. offered this service!

It is a gorgeous car and well restored. It's a full matching numbers car w/good options and impeccable documentation. It was originally offerred at $70K. I think with the softer economy and the stock market way down people are holding onto dicretionary dollars more than in the past. I would bet the seller has more than the asking price in the car and you could not duplicate that car for $58K. That being said, it is still a large sum of money and the pool of buyers at that level is relatively small.
THANKS FOR THE NICE WORDS CHARLIE!
THE ACTUAL PHONE NUMBER FOR GM OF CANADA IS
905-644-5843 FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY HAVE A VEHICLE IN THE USA THAT WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN CANADA. DUE TO OUR SMALL POPULATION BASE UP HERE IN CANADA IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO GET A HANDLE ON WHAT THE "MARKET" IS DOING IN RESPECT TO MUSCLE CARS. IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE GM OF CANADA AUTHENTICITY
PROCESS I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLY. AS A POINT OF INTEREST, ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO GM OF CANADA USED TO PROVIDE A COPY OF THE MICRO FILM WITH THE VIN THAT WAS BEING INQUIRED ABOUT. ALSO ON THE COPY WOULD BE NUMEROUS OTHER VIN'S WITH THE SAME SHIPPING DATE. THE MICRO FILM WAS IDENTICAL TO THE BUILD SHEET WITH RPO CODES, KEY CODES, SHIPPING DATES & THE DEALER TO WHOM THE VEHICLE WAS ALLOCATED TO. I KNOW OF SOME PEOPLE WHO BECAME "MICRO FILM COLLECTORS" AND SPENT NUMEROUS HOURS TRACKING THE DESIRABLE VIN'S THROUGH OUR MINISTRY OF TRANSPORATION TO CHASE DOWN THESE VEHICLES. GM OF CANADA NOW ONLY PROVIDES THE INFORMATON FOR THE SPECIFIC VIN REQUESTED.

I do not think that you can sell this type of car through ebay. Not many people would bid the starting money without personally inspecting the car. It is good exposure, but may not be the right exposure. Bring it to the Super Car Reunion. The buyers will be there...BKH

charlie, you are exactly right. it is a very beautiful and well done car from what i can see in the pictures. my only problem is that i would prefer a different color and the rs option, but it's not like there are very many for sale that i can choose from. i guess there are always sacrifices to be made unless one wants to wait and hope one becomes available.
twobryans,
Fathom green was not my favorite color either until I purchased a Fathom Green Yenko Camaro (thanks BKH). The color really grows on you especially when you see it on a a fully restored car. An RS COPO is super rare although there is one in Hemmings offerred at $100K this month. Now if it were me I'd pay $58K for Mark's car and spend the other $42K savings on tires and racing gas!!

Fathom Green is a very good color when it is done right. We are getting ready to spray a Harrell COPO Camaro that is FG and we have recently finished a FG Z/28. Don't underestimate this color done right. It is among my favorites...BKH
