Joe Sweezey's DH Chevelle is in this months Muscle Car Review. Great shots. Brian, who made the mags-Amreican Racing or an off-brand? [email protected] has some Dick Harrell stuff for sale.

The Chevelle is equipped with the original A/P 14x7 mags with the Harrell optional Delta High Performance H-70-14 tires. Does the article look good? We have not seen it yet. The car will be at the reunion..BKH

Did you get your MCR issue yet? It's a red/red cover this issue - I was hoping the other red car would also be from your photo session!!

You guys always get your issues weeks before me http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/mad.gif. I think they deliver the mail here by Eskimo dog sled! http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gifIs that 500 hp a dyno'd figure or a questimate?

I'll take all the Yenko Camaros around at those prices. I don't know what world they are living in.

I also just received the November issue of MCR. Great article on a very unique car. Glad to see this car is now owned by a person who is dedicated to the hobby and the history of the hi-performance cars built during the Golden Muscle Car Era. Congratulations, Joe & BKH

The price guide is not accurate in any way. I would love to find a few excellent Yenko's any year for that pricing. I also feel that this web site is a LOT stronger than a 3. What gives Casey?...BKH

I guess I'll just have to wait for my friendly Postal worker to get thru with my magazine before I see it.Thanks for posting a pic.

I'm not sure what part of the country Eric Lawrence is referring to, but I would like to go there to find my $50k professionally restored '69 Yenko Camaro/Chevelle. Funny article!

Casey!!! What's with the 3star rating??? This site is the bomb.

That may have been a "Blue Light Special" at your favorite used car dealer Marlin.Anyone seen my Postal worker ?

I think it's GREAT too !!! My only *suggestion* is for some more facts. The facts can obviously be obtained from you guys through the message forum, but it would be neat for someone like me, that only has a passing knowledge of the details of the Supercars to be able to see some of those on-line.

For example: When I first got on this site, Marlin sent me an EXTENSIVE low-down on 70 Yenko Deuce's. That would be PERFECT to put under the Yenko facts section. I realize you guys are in a niche, in that there are a lot of folks that try to *clone* the Supercars, so maybe that's why ?? Not sure ?? Justa suggestion. But I do thoroughly enjoy my time and the knowledge I gain from this site.

Case.

Really great Car! But still haven't recieved my MCR magazine yet. I keep saying Seattle is so far away you'd think it was as distant as a foreign country or something. Also probably why no car magazine writers come here to do car articles either. The airfare alone would wipeout any profit they made from magazine sales. Actually I haven't encouraged any writers to come here either though.

So, Kevin, is Seattle where they have $50,000 Yenkos? What a negotiating tool, huh? "Well, Muscle Car Review says your car is worth only 50 thousand. Why are you asking 85?" Oh yeah, 85 might be low this week. I'm hearing asking prices in the 95 range this week. Well worth it, I might add.

Yep Mike, we can only get $50,000 for them here. We have to discount them heavily to get a buyer to put out the dollars to fly here to inspect the car with an Yenko expert; and then pay for a semi-truck to haul it solo by itself because no one else usually has cars coming or going this way. I think NW Yenko Jim's Duece that just sold, would've sold much sooner and easier if it were back in the Mid-section or East Coast. But I know what you're saying on the Magazine price guide. We've seen those kinds of inaccuracies for years.

I wonder if this car is the same one shown in this old magazine article. Look at the one that Dick is resting his hand on, page one.

Looks like the one next to Camaro has white stripes and my cheap computer can't quite make out if the one he has his hands on has black stripe...Wish I had one of those 68's.

I don't have a cheap computer, but one of those $50,000 ones. I hate it 'cause it's smarter than me. Think I can trade it for one of those Seattle Yenkos?

The DH Chevelle in the recent issue of MCR mag was great! Its about time that brands, other then Yenko, are highlighted.

There are Great Dealership 'Brands' still around, although they are getting scarce. Does anyone have a original Dana or Berger? If you do, please post, as it will be greatly appreciated.

Yes that is Joes Chevelle.

You are correct Belair62.I came back to edit my incorrect statement. My magazine shows White stripes on the further Chevelle,Black on the one closer to Harrell.

I am sure that MCR would love more cars like the DH Chevelle, but they are very hard to locate. If you have one of these non-Yenko cars give MCR a call or talk to me at the reunion. I will do my best to help you get in print...BKH

Joe's Chevelle looks great on the cover. The price guide is way off on the Yenkos. It lists the Yenko Chevelle at 53K. 3k Higher then a 69 Yenko Camaro http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/crazy.gif Is that Joe's brother Bob's Cyclone on page 29?

Belair62
08-27-2001, 01:50 AM
It's simple Joe...there are just too darn many Yenko Camaros around..the Y Chevelle is a much rarer vehicle and should be able to pull 53k http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Belair62 You're right - Half as many Yenko Chevelles. So what does that do for the value of a COPO Chevelle from Cali? I only know of one http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/laugh.gif

Can you still get the hood that is on the '68 DH Chevelle ? May have a line on one, that is in need of repairs. When he described to me this hood that he had, I was trying to visualize just what it looked like. I believe he was describing the same hood that is on the DH Chevelle. I have not seen the hood, and it has been a couple years since we last spoke about it. But I recall he wanted like $1500 for the hood, which like I mentioned earlier, is in need of repairs.
So, how rare is that A&A Engineering hood that is on the '68 DH Chevelle ?

That was a great article. This was the first issue I ever bought, now I think I'll subscribe. I loved that AAR Cuda article and Judge GTO article, too. Dan http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/cool.gif
