Question on Baldwin Motion "Phases"

Could someone explain to me what was included in the Phase 1 package, and what was added to that in the Phase 2, and what was added to the Phase 2 in the Phase 3 package, and so on? Dan, to my knowledge there is no such thing as a Phase 1 or 2. The equipment also varied by year so you need to be more specific if your interest lies w/a certain car and year. Motion built cars from AT LEAST 1967 through 1980.

Typical Phase III mods on the early cars included an L-72 (427-425 hp) engine and later the LS-6 454 (plus a few ZL-1's and L-88's), electronic ignition, recurved distributer, aftermarket intake, larger carb, dual electric fuel pumps, welded spring perches and axle tubes, aftermarket shocks, traction bars, wheels/tires, valve covers, sun tach plus many other speed items. Your wallet was the limiting factor. Motion would also build the engine beyond the typical L-72 specs if you desired.

I'll pull out my Motion catalog later tonight and see if there's anything I missed as I'm going by memory.

COPO, thanks for the info. I'm kind of new to the Super cars. I've always known the names of the cars (Yenko, B/M, Gibb, etc.) but am still learning about what the dealers put on their cars. Most of the Motion cars were built to customer order with a few built up and put on the lot at Baldwin Chevrolet. You can get anything from just headers and a dyno tune to an all out 10 second drag car. Motion also sold a package he called the Phase III. I don't believe he used any other Phase numbers other then III. The Phase III was the "big enchilada." and was the one featured in ads and magazines. It was expensive and included special paint, headers, sidepipes, fiberglass hood, wood steering wheel, big Holley, mag wheels, etc. This car was built to customer order also so there was some variance as to what parts were included. On the Corvettes, Motion had a Phase III and also a Phase III GT that included additional body modifications.
