Hopefully in the next couple of days, I'm gonna bite the bullet and try upgrading this board to the newer "licensed" version. I'm gonna have to first upgrade to version 5.X, then on up to the newest 6.X version, so the board may look a little "funky" for a couple days. But first, I'm gonna do a full backup of this board, and see if I can't try the switch on a different server, just to see if the switch will be compatible without any bugs. I could start from scratch, but there is a LOT of good info on this board that I really don't want to lose, so I'm gonna try and update the software, while keeping the current threads (cross your fingers!).
So, "what's the purpose of this NEW board", you ask? Well, it will hopefully get rid of a lot of little bugs that I can't seem to track down (the annoying "lost password" eamils, lost cookies, wrong parsing of URLs, etc.), it will add a LOT more security features that are needed more and more as the board grows, and it will keep me from having to mess with trying to "tweak" the board every so often (which is a crash waiting to happen).
So, if you would, bear with us, and hopefully before long we will have a much better board, with the same look and feel as this one, but with a lot more features. Wish me luck... http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
