Will the track only be open for show attendees? Is this a 1/4 mile track?

No, the track will be open for any and everyone! It is a 1000' foot track, but it is really nice, and the surface was just re-done (longer starting pad...records are falling in ALL classes). I am looking forward to putting my LS-6 Chevelle up against some Supercars, as well as some other Musclecars. Here is a link to the drag strip's home page: http://www.ozarkdragstrip.com/ It should be LOADS of fun!

So, it's a 1/8 mile track? My brain has a hard time thinking in 1/8 mile increments. Really looking forward to seeing some of the cars run.

Well, it's a 1000 ft. track...not an 1/8th mile or a 1/4 mile, in between! So, if you have trouble converting 1/8th mile times, then the 1000 ft. will REALLY throw you for a loop! But, I think the track has a chart that converts the times to 1/4 mile times, so that could help. It doesn't take long to get used to.

Here are some numbers that should get you close, though:

An 1/8th mile ET of 8.2-8.4 is right around a 13 sec. 1/4 mile ET. The 1000 ft. time for a 13 sec. 1/4 mile run would be around 11 seconds flat. Now, this is a rough estimate, but it is fairly close.

Hopefully, I am going to take my Chevelle to Bowling Green to an NSCA event (BFG Drag Radial Pure Stock class) the week before the Supercar Reunion, that way I have most of the "bugs" worked out. Dad has been giving me a rough time about the Chevelle, about how it's "too big" or "too heavy"...and that it's not a Supercar. Well, wouldn't it be something to see my Chevelle just happen to be next to him in his Yenko Camaro in the staging lanes! It could be interesting! ;)

Well, I am about to get the LS-6 running and lined out (finally!), and I am looking forward to seeing how it runs against the "best of the best" at the Supercar Reunion!

But, I am still planning on getting some practice in at Bowling Green (at an NSCA Factory Stock race) where I will no doubt get my clock cleaned! At the last event, which was at Gateway ( www.horsepowertv.com/raceresults/races.asp?theaction=viewround&race_id=101&class_id=12&round_type_id=1&round_number=1 (http://www.horsepowertv.com/raceresults/races.asp?theaction=viewround&race_id=101&class_id=12&round_type_id=1&round_number=1) ), Randy Miller (in his Yenko Camaro!) ran a 12.06 @ 109 to win the event! That is FLYING! But, the rules are pretty liberal, and the cars get to run BFG Drag Radials.

Mark Hassett ran his ZL-1 Camaro recently at a Factory Stock Muscle Car Drag Race ( hometown.aol.com/lamgmt/myhomepage/business.html (http://hometown.aol.com/lamgmt/myhomepage/business.html) , that's him in the second picture!), and he ran easy 13.90s! He is planning on bringing this car car to the Reunion, so maybe he can show us all how it is done. It's good to see a ZL-1 Camaro (in factory stock condition) being used like it was intended!

So, is anyone else going to run their cars?
