Well, we have gotten our first returned entry form for the 2002 Supercar Reunion!

Kim Howie and his Gibb-Harrell S/S ProStock Camaro are planning on making the trip, and are even gonna give it a go at the drag strip! I can't WAIT to see this car!

I still wanna know what it would cost to rent the track and if I bring my Red Camaro can I run it ?

Clill:

I would like to know about the track also! Bill (the guy @ Gateway) hasn't returned our calls and we can't seem to track him down. So, we haven't got that part of the weekend ironed out yet...but we had better get on it, as it appears some people, besides myself, ARE actually interested in some track time.

As for "the Witch(?)" seeing some track time...I don't see any problem, as it is very possible it may be an "open track" kind of deal for some of the local car clubs, to help with the cost. Just remember me when you are giving rides down the track... http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

My son and I had such a great time at the last Reunion, we have already dropped the entry form in the mail. I plan to bring my '71 BM Phase 3 Camaro & race too. http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif

That's GREAT news, Charlie! Hey, one question for you: what kind of truck do you pull your trailer with? I was watching a tape from the Reunion recently and your Chevelle was parked next to a SWEET 2002(?) GMC Dually, in my favorite color, black. Was that yours by any chance?

Not my dually, my tow vehicle is a F@#D Expedition, but hopefully by the Reunion it will be replaced with a Yukon Denali XL.

Rob, any word on who might be this year's guest speaker?

We here at the sYc are pleased to announce that the 5th Annual Supercar Reunion, 2002, will be dedicated to Nickey Chevrolet. We have arranged for Tom Stephani, the son of one of the founders of the dealership, to be our special guest. He is going to bring his large collection of Nickey related artifacts to the event to share with us. In addition, we hope to have one of the dealership's mechanics on hand as well. He was involved in much of the performance work.

Well you Damm well know I will be there again to have some fun. I just have to bring something that wont blow a headgasket, drop a starter shim or have a day where it will rain. I am leaning heavily on bringing my Fathom Green Yenko. I love that car and want to have some fun with it.

Hey COPO, If the Phase III doesn't run in the 11's, I bet Rosen would be more than happy to refund the initial purchase price...hehe. http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
And if not, I'd be happy to oblige!

It would be the AHRA race car. Correct Kim?..BKH

I'm also hoping Kim chimes in here, but for some reason I'm thinking ZL-1 power? Should be a REALLY neat car!

bkhpah
02-14-2002, 02:42 AM
It was a ZL/1 powered car. I think Kim was building it that way again...BKH

The car was a ZL1 car. It was Fred Gibb's race car. I just got it back from the chassis shop from LaHarpe IL in December. Right now it is on a body jig in my garage. The body work is about done. This car looks exactly like Porterfields 69 except no lace and a red plexiglass hood scoop instead of clear. The car was raced on a limited schedule by Fred. Right now I'm planning on having it done in time for the reunion. I plan on racing it - it will have a ZL1 in it again.

I've added a few names lately to the list (Dave Belk - '70 Yenko Deuce, Gary Holub - '72 Yenko Vega, Bill Hunter - '69 Yenko Camaro, James Shockley - '69 Yenko Camaro) and probably some others that I can't remember as I'm typing.

Take a look at the list: THE LIST (http://www.yenko.net/reunion/2002reunion.htm#Entries)

Joe Swezey will not bring his yet unfinished Harrell Camaro. He will bring his 68' Harrell Chevelle in its place. Not a bad thing...BKH

Rob...... Man that line up sounds awsome. I really had hoped to make it, but that same week were having the "Internation Plowing Match" in my home town. About 20-25,000 people will be showing up daily for a week straight. There having a car show during that time, so being a "local", it is expected that I will displaying my iron. But next year, I will try and keep open....come hell or high water. Am hoping to bring my Nova, just to be different! Hey, maybe JJ can haul down my white COPO CAmaro and you and I can run some 12 second passes on poly's. Loser buys the beer. Ya in????

The list is growing. Ken Barnhart is bringing his '69 ZL-1 race car (low 10 second quarter mile), which he bought new from Fred Gibb. His car retains 80% of its original paint. Another new entry is Kevin Suydam, with a 1969 Phase III B-M Camaro. Tom

I was just checking the list of attendies. And there seems to be a question mark next to Brian Henderson's name. I wonder what the "Henderson/Sweezey Camp" is up to now?

Rob, Name Tags would help me alot as I often forget peoples names. On the name tags you could put their name and their user-name and their car. I mostly remember people by their cars and then if the person isn't with their car at another show or somewhere I am embarassed because I forget their name!!

You could just buy some blank stick on name tags and set them out with a Felt pen and we can do it ourselves. I'm really hoping we are all smart enough to spell our own names. And I'm sure most of us know how to spell Camero.
