Beware of this car for sale from Mike Byron in Las Vegas. I bought YS160 from him in Feb. of 99 and got all the paper work that goes with the car. His story at the time was that the tag was lost in his recent messy divorce from his wife. http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/mad.gif

Just thought I would give everyone a heads up on this one before it got messy.

Just thought I would bump this back to the top.

EVERYONE needs to take note of this, and file it away in their memory, as we are uncertain just what Mike's plans are right now.

Here is a link to Mike's ad: http://www.corvair.org/classifieds/ Type "yenko" in the search box, and the ad will come up.

Got a interesting phone call from him. About how he is going to sue me because I warned everyone about what he is trying to do. He said since he found the origional tag that the car it was on would be the real car. Anyone on the board a lawyer???? http://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif I kind of thought that I was the one who should be suing him... Maby Charley is right I can just go and pick up my other car... I will give my permission to anyone on the left coast to do that.

Shouldn't he be sending you the original tag since he "found it" for you ????I wouls suspect ifyou caled the DMV of his state and told them whats going on they just may go pick up the tag for you.

I'm not a lawyer, but, I think he is playing with both felony and fraud chrges, so, his threat is pretty empty. I agree with Charley & Belair Bob.Suggest to him that he go see a lawyer immediately to see what his standing is. I think he'll change his tune quickly. Good luck.

Get someone to inquire about the car and get pics of the car and the tag. Get copies of all of it and then have an Attorney Demand the Tag. I assume he owes you the tag. I bet he verbally told that if and when he found the tag that he would send it to you since it greatly affects the value of your car. Yep, I bet that's what he said.

Keep the thoughts coming, guys. We have a lot of emails from him, from before/after the car was purchased...anyone know if those can be used? Also, anyone live in/near Las Vegas?!

So have you asked him how he is selling your car again ? I would be sure to print a copy of his ad for your records. Maybe since you bought the Yenko you can just go pick it up and have two cars.

You may want to check with the SCCA. They may have a record of the Yenko YS numbers with the matching vin. The Stinger number was needed to race the car but I am not sure if they recorded the vin also. If they have your vin matched with your YS number it may help your case.
