Is this the Camaro from Gates dealership that was at the Colinsville Reunion in September?

No, that was Bill Hunter's car. You can see this car in the 2000 and 2001 reunion pictures

I agree, Jim. That's one very fine supercar. Belongs up here in the PNW. If Kevin doesn't ante up, I'm sure it would look pretty good in your stable too. Aren't you getting bored with that blue car yet?

Guys,
I had an opportunity to learn more about this car when I spent some time with it at the Collinsville show this past year. This car has a great deal of history and when you purchase one of these cars pedigree is what you look for. This car came from the Cannonsburg store, it is an early early production car, it has been made more unique by what Yenko Chevrolet did to it, and is a survivor! You could not ask for much more. Restored cars are great but they are only original once. If I had the "cha-ching" I would buy it in a second.

The original owner of the car wanted a Daytona Yellow/black top car. The initial order of 10 yellow cars all arrived without tops. To help sell the car Yenko sent it to Regency Top in Canonsburg to install a top much like is done by dealers today. I asked the people that worked there if this was true. They told me that they installed more than one top on a Yenko sold car. It was easier to use 68 moldings than 69 because of the smaller moldings. In 1969 most people would never know the difference. Even today it is rarely noticed. Cost was to have been 29.00. Regencey also told me that they installed custom built rugs in some Yenko Deuces in 1970 for Yenko...BKH

Just a note to help clarify a few email questions about the car. This car has a special Yenko built and installed competition 427 engine and special racing transmission with a host of additional speed equippment all invoiced and installed at Yenko. The original 427 engine sits fresh and unfired on a stand. One car, two engines, all Yenko parts. I hope this helps...BKH
