If I was to go to a junk yard and pick up a camaro chassis, would it be the same chassis as what came stock on a 1969 Yenko 427 SC?
What would i need to do to it to make it just like the SC?? I am asking this cause i want to rebuild a yenko but cant find one for cheap that i can restore. Help me, thanks

bk454, it is best to start with a good V8 Camaro to build a clone car. All of the parts needed to make it a big block Yenko clone are available on the aftermarket. The major items that you will need to convert it to a close clone are: engine (for this use any big block and dress it up), engine frame mounts, radiator and fan shroud, trans. crossmember (automatic ones are avail. from GM), heater core and bracket (use the existing small block heater box and drill the holes), engine brackets and pulleys, driveshaft & yokes, 12 bolt rear end, front and rear springs, stripes and emblems, and disc brake conversion kit if the car does not already have them. Also you can upgrade the front sway bar to a larger diameter of 1" or 1-1/8" if you use an engine with the small balancer. These are the basics but will get you headed in the right direction.
Clone cars are a neat way to have fun, as they can be driven without the worries of something happening to a true car. However, one drawback is the cost of building them. You would be best to spend your money restoring an original SS or Z/28 as you may not get your money back from doing a clone. Also look into buying a clone car that is already done as the prices are pretty cheap compared to having to make one. Good luck in whatever you choose to do................RatPack................

rat pack is totally correct. i'd check ebay for clone cars though, i recently saw a pretty nice looking car go for around 14,000 i think. to build the same car could cost twice that much. but, you may be like me and like to build the car yourself. it seems cheaper when your buying the car a piece at a time instead of a hugh outlay of cash at once.

Bill Stacek Chevrolet, located in Wheeling Illinois has a muscle car sales department.
They have a true X-11 code V-8 711 trim Daytona yellow ,1969 Rally sport Camaro. It has a 4 speed with black vinyl top and D80 spoilers. Its a nice driver as is. The asking price is $13,999.00 . The build date and body number are close to Yenko correct.

You would be much better off driving/restoring a car like the one mentioned above. Much better off.And a lot more fun too since when you are done, you have something that you won't have to tack the word "clone" onto your for sale ad.You stand a better chance of breaking even on all the money you put into it.There are a lot of clones for sale of just about every brand and style of muscle car.

It seems that a major percentage of the Chevrolet '69-'70 'muscle cars' available for sale today are clones or misrepresented.
