I just stopped by a local used car dealer who supposedly has a 1969 RS/SS Z11 Pace car convertible in the lot. He gave a breakdown with the following numbers:

VIN: 124679N616545

ST 69 12467 NOR281369BDY
TR 720 50 PNT
03B Z11

T0304HB located on front of block below right cylinder head.

GM3932388 located at rear of block where it bolts to the bellhousing

19N616545 at rear of block behind the oil filter

The hood is not mounted correctly and I noticed splatters of orange paint in the engine compartment (looks like the block was repainted). The Fisher Tag on the firewall was barely readable (appears to have been painted, but looked like the numbers matched to the info he gave me). Car is also missing the POP. The guy at the lot says car came from Florida and he is asking $34,000 it. Anyone have any input or other markings I should look or ask about?

34K is a bunch for a car that had the engine repainted in the car. For that price you can probably find a nice frame off restored car.

I thought 34K was alot to ask for as well. I figure I could probably talk him down on the price. I think they were taken back by the fact that I knew alot of questions to ask. When I asked about the POP one of the other guys that worked there said it's a 32yr old car, the POP missing is nothing unusual. Strange thing is that supposedly the original owners manual was in the glove compartment. Wasn't the POP usually or always adhered to the back of the manual?

The owners manual is still available.

The protect-o-plate was part of a separate warranty folder. It is not unusual for it to no longer be with the car after all these years. A previous owner may have it.

I agree with Charlie. That's plenty for a small-block Z11 that's been schmutzed & enameled.
