Which cars, if any, got a heat shield under the carb? Did any of the Super Cars get the shield?

It was a counter part. No factory installations.

Some might not call them SuperCars,but any solid lifter engine,L-78,LS-6,LT-1,that was sold Brand new in the State of Calif.or Nevada,came with RPO NA-9 EEC.I am referring to 1970 here.This is the Charcoal Cannister.These cars came with a Heat Shield under the Carburator.

In addition to what mr70 stated, if you look in the assembly manual, they do show the heat shield with the canister application.

Not a "ringer" at all. Mr. 70 and SS-427 are correct on the shield. California emissions, or any other area in the country where the engine could see "severe duty" likely got them. Hill climbing, emissions, and towing all caused engine operating temps to rise and Chevrolet engineering elected to use a shield to keep the carb cool. Shields were also recommended by service if a towing package was later installed for the same reason.
