Took the Yenko Deuce out Sunday night on a 'test drive', and when stopped at a light in central Pottstown had a black Honda Civic 'Ricer' pull up. Windows all blacked out, big chromes, coffee can exhaust, the whole package. I'm not one to race non-domestics, but I've seen these little things run 10's+, so you have give them a second look these days and watch out for them. When the light turned green, neither of us went. I crept forward a little, and he took off - can't let that kind of opportunity go by. Within 20 feet I had a fender, 20 yards it was a car length, and it was all over. I don't know how you guys street race in your parts of the country, but around here a car length is considered the end of race.

Anyway, it's darn good fun - regardless who's in the other lane!

I had a similar experience...I took my LS6 Chevelle out a few weeks ago had a souped up Civic (must be something about those little cars...more around souped up than stock..) pull up to me at a light. Well he took off and I eased throught the intersection. He ended up having to stop at the next light and since the area is fairly well deserted, I was more than happy to let him see what cubic inches can do for you. The light went green and he sped off, well I gave him a car length and then proceeded to introduce him to 450 hp. It didn't take long before I was past him. At the next light, he put down his window, and as the bass from his stero vibrated the windows gave me a thumbs up...Cool kid, just needed to learn to repect his elders... /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

The guy who owns the body shop behind me here at work has had my rot /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif isseri tied up with the shell of a rust free rs-ss 67 Camaro coupe for two years now for his son has forsaken the project in lieu of a lowered Honda..These will be the grown men of the future buying my cars at the estate sale for 1.5 million! Not unlike disco, it's going to take some time for generation Y to realize what they've done!

Just what is the fine in PA. for drag racing? Mommas not gonna like it when you have to call her for bail money! Might be better to call one of us. I'll kick in. Sure glad I never did any of that stuff. Now go find a 440 road runner and make us all proud. Schonye

Schoneye;
The fine is steep, and the car gets impounded. It's been a real problem in these parts this year, 5 people have died so far - 2 just last week. They seem to do it differently here, they don't know when to call it over! Where I come from a car length is the end, and unless you are on a quiet country road, you rarely go over the speed limit. But here, they just 'haul the mail' until someone gets hurt. I'll stick to my method, at least then you can argue that you weren't 'racing', but rather accelerating normally - regardless of what the other guy was doing.

They just arrested another 100-150 people in Phila. PA for drag racing on the street last month - happens every summer.

If the 440 chance arrives, I won't back down. I'm still working on the Holley stumble though /ubbthreads/images/icons/mad.gif
