On my Yenko Chevelle, I need to hook up my Stewart-Warner tach to my monitor box. My monitor box is labeled LIGHT, TACH, BATT, GRND, IGN. The color wires coming off of my tach are GREEN, RES, BLACK, WHITE. How do they match up?
What other wires do I need to run to my monitor box, FROM THE COIL, BATTERY, SWITCHED BATTERY, ETC.? What color wires are used for these applications? How are they routed?
I know the orginal spots where the tach and monitor box were located. I found the holes for the tach, and the monitor box was still in the car. The last part of this question is where do the wires from the tach route through the firewall? Thanks for any help James /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Hello James
Call or email Williamsons in Arkansas. They sell new and rebuilt Stewart Warner/SUN gauges and transmitter boxes. They also can convert the tach to electronic so you no longer need the transmitter box but I would still keep it hooked up wih dummy wires for nostalgic purposes. www.williamson's.com or 479-369-2551

They are on the web:

Williamson's Istrument Service (http://www.williamsons.com/index.html)

Once converted, do these "old" tachs seem accurate?
