Hello this is my 1st post and what a great site for information this is! I am in need of help to identify & confirm the origionality of 2 different sets of YENKO emblems I have. Both sets have the tabs for the nuts to attach and both are painted R,W & B but on 1 of the sets there is a stamped #868788899091 and the other set has NO markings at all, both are the cast "pot metal" ANY HELP would be GREATLY appreciated, THANKS

Don,
Those with the numbers on the back are reproductions. I have the same exact set, been sitting in the closet for 6 or 7 years (sold the car). Originally purchased from D&R Classic Camaro in Chicago(?). If you are interested, there is a member on this site (mnyenko), that had some copies made from his original Yenko emblem. From what everone says they are VERY nice. Maybe he still has a set for sale ?

I bought one of the badges you mentioned, and it is very nice. However it is different than the painted Yenko badge. First, it is chromed, second, the background of the "YENKO" is pebbled, third, it installs with double faced tape, not posts. It was really just Yenko Chevrolet's dealer emblem, put on all cars leaving the dealership. It was also used on the 70 Deuce. Don't know why they stopped using the grey white and blue one...maybe so they would not have to drill holes? Marlin?

Unreal;
That was one reason, it is impossible to put the nuts onto those pegs without removing the Nova's fenders - which means hood too. Another possible reason is that they didn't have any more of the '69 version, so they just painted up some of the regular car emblems. The '70 Yenko Novas have been found with the white '69 emblems, the chrome version painted about 3 different ways, the chrome version not painted at all, and quite possibly one car that did not get the emblems. We also know that one of the cars sold out of Yenko was on the lot without the Magnum wheels, just the XT's. So, none of this stuff is a science, just some high school kids making some extra money at night /ubbthreads/images/icons/smirk.gif
