Will;
To my knowledge 1967 and 1981 were the only years for a black Yenko car, and only on Camaros. The '67's didn't have any stripes, so that makes 1981 the only year for a black Yenko car with white stripes.
If you are inquiring because you ran across a black Yenko Deuce with white stripes in Maryland, steer clear, it's just a nice '71 Nova with some stripes thrown on. Some people might call it a clone, but it's not, a clone would at the very least be a '70!!
no didn't see/look at anything,just thinking it would be neat to build a 69 conv. camaro 502 black w/white yenko stripes and white top/ interior......don't you want to buy all my junk so I can start this project,as if I don't have enough problems now!!!! /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

That's a decent stroll on your second pass, 13.2 @ 105 is pretty good!
first pass was all nerves,tried to do a burn out with the traction control on /ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif
had a reaction time 1. something
I almost kept on going right out the gate but had to get the girls form the stands,I was inbetter frame on the 2nd pass,I think she'll go faster,but I cantever seem to get to the track and when I did they would let me run cause it wasn't a vette or viper /ubbthreads/images/icons/frown.gif

What track did you run at? You have some awesome tracks out there on the east coast! Once in my life, I want to run at E-town or Atco and get a taste of what it's like to run in good air!
capital raceway,the only place I know that you buy an extra time run with a beer /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif
well can't really said that now it was 15 years ago !!

Rob,
If you ever make it to Atco Raceway, let me know because I live 20 minutes away. /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Rob;
E-town is good, Maple Grove is even better (lots of trees, good O2 %), don't waste your time at Atco - poorly maintained. Then there's Island dragway in NJ, Numedia, & Keystone in the PA mountains, Cecil County in Maryland, the list goes on! I just wish I had more time, and more cars.

I'm telling you, if I ever come up with a legit excuse to make a trip to the East coast, I would SERIOUSLY consider taking a car. LOTS of great tracks out there, but it has a lot to do with a certain member on another site, that lives on the coast, that thinks ALL of the 60s/70s musclecars are PIGS (his word) in stock form. The kicker is, he told me he won't race on a track, but only on the Mass Turnpike. He told me he would WALK ME (in dad's Yenko Camaro) with his stock (except for lid) 99 1LE Z-28. The basis for his argument? He read somewhere that a 1LE ran the 1/4 in a 13.16...

Oh boy, a trash talker!!
I hope he uses the automated toll collection device known as EZ-PASS. Apparently, they are now capable of giving speeding tickets based on distance/time calculations derived from the times registered by the EZ-PASS computer. So, if you show up at your destination exit too quickly, they know the distance, therefore you were -- speeding!
The only place to race is on the track, 6 people killed here in this small town from drag racing on the street this year already /ubbthreads/images/icons/mad.gif

Will,
Yes, there were two Black 1969 Camaros sold as Yenkos to the Public. They were sold by Jack Douglass Chevrolet in Hinsdale, Illinois and one was used by Tom Dumass, then General Manager as his Dealer Demonstrator.
Tom Remembers changing Jack's existing orders since no black cars were included and he usually drove a Back demo at the time.
almost quiting time and a tractor trailer just turned over in my yard,another 20 ft it would have sqashed the 00 SS ...
I never drive it to work but I think I just learned my lesson!!!!

Hit the nail on the head. Race on the track only. Hawaii (Oahu) has lost 8 drivers (racing ) and 2 familys (5 persons)that were hit by the racers at 0 dark 30 in the morning.

Will;
This tractor trailer didn't crush the '69 Nova did it?
sorry "my yard" being the stone yard I work at, not at my house!

Marlin, almost everyone I meet up with around the PA/NJ area says they have run their best times at Atco. Englishtown is a nightmare anymore because of all the import racers that show up. But I will say that one of the guys in our club has run a 9.05 at Englishtown in his 97 SS 30th anniversary convertible. You need at least 1100 hp to do that in a 3900 lb car. /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif Oh, and if you come to Island, bring some extra chewing tobacco for the locals!
