Hello, I've been lurking for a few days now and thought I would introduce myself before making any further posts. My name is Mark Kane and I live in Oakville, Ontario currently. I was pretty heavily involved in muscle cars and Corvettes until about 2 1/2 years ago, when we decided to start a family. At the same time, I also decided to continue my education on a part-time basis, so there was little time left for cars and the thought of my two '67 RS Z-28's sitting in the garage rotting was driving me crazy - so I sold them (mistake /ubbthreads/images/icons/frown.gif ). Well, we have two little ones now and I will be finished school in another 6 months, so I thought it was time to reaquaint myself with the hobby so I'd be ready to buy again next summer (we're also building a new home currently with a nice BIG garage for my new toys /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif ). I have to admit that I can't believe how much prices have gone up in the past 2 - 3 years!
I will be looking for another '67 Z-28, a '70 LS6 Chevelle and a Gorries' Black Panther just as soon as the house is finished. Any information anyone can provide would be appreciated. Thanks for listening (reading) and please keep those informative posts coming...there is definitely a wealth of information on this board!

Zedder,
Welcome to the board, you will learn something new every day here! Shoot me an e-mail with regards to what you are looking for in an LS-6. I have a few leads right now on some private availabilites. I also know of an original '69 Z-28 as well that just became available if interested, and no, I am NOT a dealer.

Thanks SS427. I will definitely contact you when I get closer to pulling the trigger on the LS6. This will likely happen once the house is finished next year, however I had someone ask if I would consider selling the Z06 last night and I am giving this some thought. If I sell it, I'd likely buy another car sooner - I just don't want to get into cars again too deep until I see what this house is going to end up costing me!

Hi mark, good to see your looking to get back into the cars. You are right about the price on some cars going through the roof. I was lucky to buy my 67-Z last july at a cheap price. Many people have offered to buy, but not for sale. Not long ago there was a black panther for sale on ebay or camaro's net. Rogerblack panther camaro (http://www.classiccar.com/black_panther1.asp)

Hi Roger, Nice to hear from you again. Hope the work on your car is going well. I see your wanted ads every so often, so I assume you are hard at it! Yes, I can't wait to get back into cars again. This has been a tough couple of years with school and family. Also, my son is almost 2 1/2 now and is absolutely car crazy already (can't understand why /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif ), so I really want to get him out to cruise nights etc. in a nice old muscle car.
Thanks for the link to Bob's car. I have spoken to him and exchanged emails etc. He is the fourth original owner of a Black Panther that I have spoken with. Surprisingly, two of them still own their cars (the other is a big block that I am determined to own /ubbthreads/images/icons/smirk.gif ). It is very tough to find info on these cars, but I did find a vintage pic of one at Cayuga Dragway in 1968 and have a couple of magazine articles, a body broadcast sheet and a few dealer invoices. If anyone reading this has more info to share, please contact me at
[email protected]
Take care Roger and send a few pics of the Z along when you have a chance,

Wow, great information, I've never heard about the Black Panther Camaros before and if I did, I had no idea what somebody was talking about and didn't pay attention. Mark, I think I was in contact with you before about a 67 Z28 engine I thought I had a lead on. Another one of those leads that never materialized.
Jeff.

Copo: Thanks for the link to your site - you've got some great pics there. I love looking at those old ads etc. You must be the fellow from Quebec that Bob told me he was speaking with. By the way, you wouldn't have a source for doing a VIN search in Quebec would you? I have 3 VINs that I'd like to search and would gladly pay a fee for the service if anyone can provide it.
Jeff, Yes, I remember your email. Too bad the motor didn't pan out. If I had a dollar for every rare part I heard about that ended up being a wild goose chase...
Yeah, the Black Panthers are pretty neat. I have 6 more Panther VINs that I have to search, but I just haven't had time yet. Apparently, some of them did make it into the US. Locally, I know that one went to Ottawa, Ontario; Hamilton, Ontario; and Inglewood, Ontario and none have been located. I've only seen three to-date and only one was a big block. Take care,
