I'm a new member and I think there is alot of great info. exchanged between members. I saw the ad yesterday, I called on the car. He says it is supposed to be a real COPO, however, has no documentation on the car. He did give me the #'s off the cowl tag. I'll post them later today. Claims to be a #'s matching, correct car with a -- paint code. He's asking $48K for the car! Seems cheap & I know some of his merchandise is questionable. 69 COPO CHEVELLE

Opinion - Do you homework very carefully since that dealer has had some questionable cars. Check all the numbers from engine, rear, trim tag, etc.

Is That Dan Jensen's (One of the PSMCDR founders) 1970 Blue LS-6 Chevelle for sale on their website?
I know he got it from Floyd Garret, and Gilbert Propes restored it.Sure looks like the car...

Could that 69 COPO be Jeff Latondress's twin?

-- PAINT
755 TRIM

07DB1076 B M213132

Engine has MQ code
Hope this helps for anyone who's interested.

The tag is very similar to the 136379B408235

I called on car they want 65k and there is a deposit on it right now. If that vin is right it is the twin to my orange copo. I dont think there was a build sheet with the car but it would have Canadian paperwork it was sold in Toronto. Jeff

Hey Jeff
It sure looks like your twin. When we owned your COPO Chevelle,we had just missed buying the twin to it from Harry S.He sold it at Carlisle, and I searched hard for that Chevelle without any trace of it turning up.
Your twin did not have a buildsheet, and was documented from Canada.I have the VIN# for it and the option list too.

Dave
If you did buy it,email me the VIN# so I can verify if it is the Chevelle I was looking for.
Nice buy, by the way. /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

408202.... Special paint, black interior, shipped July 24 1969 (same day as Jeff's and mine) Suppose to be sold new at Chevy Younge Holdings in Toronto Ont. Dealer 95-517. Did you get a build sheet with that or the GM of Canada paperwork??? Got most this info from Jeff (thanks) It's the twin! Looks like they added the white stripe, but it looks great. What a small world. I am on the phone with them today getting info on the 1964 09-code Max Wedge and I find out that Shor is there certifying Copos /ubbthreads/images/icons/shocked.gif Two in one day not bad.

10-12-2002, 12:09 PM
You are correct Pete. Jeff called me and hooked me up with GM of Canada. Documenting a car could not be easier! They sent me an option sheet on the car within an hour, and a packet of materials pertaining to car will be here in 2-3 weeks. Jeff had a lot of info on car. I have since found out that a Wayne Potts out of NC. was the person who consigned the car to future classics early this week. He must not have driven or shown the car much, if at all. Thanks for all the help guys. It is nice to have contacts all over the country! /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

These are old posts, but I finally figured out that this is the car that Beare Motors brought in from Toronto (Chevy-Younge Holdings) to sell to my buddy Ken. Our two cars hung out together a lot when new. I rode in it many times. Ken was in Calgary a month or so ago and got to see his old car. I have pictures around here somewhere taken when the car was new. In fact, Ken, Sandie, Dale, and I were out for supper tonight to celebrate my birthday.

Hope you can find and post those pics!.

What color was the Canadian '66 Pontiac ragtop you've mentioned before w/ the factory L72?.

The Pontiac was black as best I can remember. It would be a rare one to own.
