Thats Greg Dieterlys Car.It was on the cover of NCOA October 1993 Chevelle Report.Brian Caudell did a nice resto on it.Paul Lilick bought it from Greg a few years ago and listed it in Hemmings.Greg also sold his Camaro too.Nice pictures on the auction site.

Very nice restoration. Glad to see someone else is not afraid of overspray. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

It sure looks like an awesome car,and yes it certainly is rare, but how come all you Chevelle Guys are leaving the wild advertised claims alone.

The L89 post Chevelle with the aluminum heads would be more rare than an L78 post car, I would think? Only 7 made?

Help me out and correct me if I am wrong /ubbthreads/images/icons/smirk.gif

"It sure looks like an awesome car,and yes it certainly is rare, but how come all you Chevelle Guys are leaving the wild advertised claims alone."

Steve, you are correct with the numbers but hopefully it is because some of these guys have learned to not always look for the negative on cars and start with possitives. Too many times people bad mouth the car without really knowing what they are talking about. Even though there may be some small issues, the car speaks for itself.

This L-78 post sedan has been discussed on Team Chevelle at length many times when it was for Sale in Hemmings a while back.At one time everyone was asking that same question,"Is it really one of 7 built".
That was the Owners guesstimate for the L-89 Aluminum head option,if any 1969 Chevelle Post Sedan had it at all.
The answer is only Chevrolet knows that for sure.Maybe one day they will release those records,.So today it is just a guesstimate figure. Most are just tired of talking about it.

Ok thats makes sence. Since I mainly hang out here I was addressing info.from this site. There is a list member who owns a very documented L89 Post Chevelle and has told me that there were 8 Built, just in Canada. (maybe I got it wrong) I thought this was a very high number based on the rarity of the car and commented as such.

The individual who shared this info. is as well informed as anyone I know. and since it was his info. he can chime in if he chooses ,as I certainly enjoy learning more about the rare and ultra rare muscle cars. /ubbthreads/images/icons/cool.gif

This is the same dealer who had the '69 L-89 for sale a while back that was discussed here. The L-89 car was supposed to be a clone. /ubbthreads/images/icons/shocked.gif
