I would like to add some COPO and Yenko information to my 69 Chevelle Resource Center on my website. My first enquiry is about rear end information from this site, here's a couple of quotes "G80 - Posi rear axle 4.10 - 12 bolt housing - and a special ring/pinion replaces the standard units under COPO 9737" and "9737 - Code KQ - special HD 4.10 posi".

Upon reviewing this it appears that the COPO 9562 cars got the regular KK code, while the COPO 9737 cars got the KQ code. Is this assumption correct?

Appreciate your help.

Of all the 1969 COPO L-72 Chevelles I have seen, which isn't many,I have always seen KQ on the rearend,as well as in Box 29,if there was a buildsheet.

You know, when I typed that, I didn't really think about it, but I believe ALL COPO Chevelles should have the KQ rear, regardless of whether they had 9737 or not. I guess I need to change the wording.

Rick, thanks for your insight pal.

Rob, quite common to have things we write to make perfect sense to us, but sometimes seem a little ambiguous to the odd reader. And I have been known to be a little odd on occasion /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Our COPO 9566AA car came with the KQ rear end. Our L78 car has the KK 4:10 rear end. All the COPO information that I have seen shows the KQ differential.

Good to see the "King of the Kawarthas" jump in with some first hand knowledge. Thanks Keith, talk to you soon.

The KQ specified the special heat treated 4.10 ring and pinion which was to be part of every L72 COPO Chevelle, it was not part of the 9737 COPO option.
