As different cars are debated on this board, whether the DH FC, Brian's Nova, the Douglass COPO/Yenko, etc., it always ends up the same "neat car, but...". So, I am considering a name change. How about the Annual Neat Car Reunion, the Neat Car Registry and web page? That way, I am only responsible for what "neat" cars get to park indoors at the reunion. That way maybe I can remove my things from what seems to be my home away from home, the old "rock and hard place".

Tom,
I don't like the idea, I just got rid of my neat * car for a Couple of Canonsberg Yenkos just so I could get to park inside. /ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

BTW how does the hottest seat in the house feel /ubbthreads/images/icons/blush.gif

Dave; Yes, eligible for the Neat Car Reunion, but must get past me to get indoors. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

Stefano, getting hotter by the minute. And by the way, put away your lighter /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

Then I'm gonna sue because of discrimination & the pain and suffering that results. Then I'll have YOUR Yenko to take to the Neat Car reunion to park inside. Having a Yenko is my right... you owe it to me!!! Non Yenko owners deserve reparations now!!!

Dave; That would be the thing to do, sue me. Then the reunion and web page would be toast. /ubbthreads/images/icons/mad.gif Of course I guess you would be willing to take over these very costly and time consuming activities. /ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif

Tom, I have not had the opportunity to attend the SuperCar Reunion yet. My car is not what I think anyone would consider a supercar, but it's rare and unique and I'm having it restored the way I want it. That being said, I wouldn't change the name of what you've been doing. Just maybe more clarification on what is considered a supercar. Since you're the one that has put this stuff together, you're the one that can define what qualifies as a supercar for the reunion. The problem arises when everyone tries to latch onto the "supercar" term and get their car included in hopes of enhancing the value. All these cars are special, but there appears to be some distinct differences. As soon as the smoke clears from one controversy, we know another one will arise. I'll use the Douglass cars as an example, I had never heard of them until just this year. The more we learn, the cloudier things get. But don't change the name. Just create a "special invitation" category. I'd love to bring my car, but I doubt it will be done in time for next year's event.
Jehh.

If it is changed to the "NEATCAR REUNION", Charley will have to bring 2 truck loads. Witch, Thrasher, Mule and maybe even the water truck!!! From what I have seen in pictures of prior reunions, I think that "if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" I think the moderators and administrators of this board do an outstanding job and personally thank them for giving me the opportunity to participate and learn as much as I have over the last 4 years. Controversies will always arise, whether it is family, friends or business and I think they have always been handled here with the upmost integrity.(now can I be moved off of the Junior Member status??) /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif Jim

Jeff; Even as it applies to just the reunion, I can not explain, 100%, what a supercar is. Boy, I wish I could! That is why many things advertising the reunion end with this "... and cars of special interest". A good example is the very car being debated else where on this board, the DH FC. It was allowed to park indoors at the reunion because I felt it was a part of racing history, and a "neat" car. It may be being a DH car had not surfaced yet. It would make my life much easier if I chose not to do this, as I catch more flak over allowing these cars to park indoors then I do any other part of the event. But, I will continue to do this, as long as space allows. I think it adds to the event, and allows all of us to view cars we might not get to other wise.

Tom, there are some of us out here who feel that you do a great job with the web site and the reunion. For the SuperCar fan, there is no other web site or car show that comes close. /ubbthreads/images/icons/cool.gif

Its amazing how money changes things. I remember when this hobby was just that and the most important thing was how the owner viewed their cars, not what others thought of them ( somewhat idealistic ).
Kind of reminds me of this site about two weeks ago. How things change.
At a cost of around $3,500A can't see me ever getting to a reunion but have sure have enjoyed the site. If Tom you are behind it more power to you shame I can't meet you.
Battle on,

Don't do it! I see neat cars every day. I buy em and sell em. I want to see supercars! Even if mine ain't one. I gotta have something else to talk about when people tell me I have a "neat" car. I just say "yeah, its neat but you oughta see Tom's, Charlie's, Stefano's etc. And oh yeah, there is this guy in Vegas that has a Biscayne version of mine but it has a 427." Don't do it Tom! OK, I take it back it's really not all about the money! Come on, I need this excuse for a road trip. My wife will never go for it if I tell her we are going to see some "neat" cars! PLEASE! /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Tom,
Call it whatever you like. It's your site and your show. Just let us know what the new name and web address is /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif because most of us will follow right along.
Thanks for all you've done so far and keep up the fantastic work. Just an opinion from the silent majority!

If we are going to tow 2162 miles each way we would prefer to go a SUPERCAR REUNION. My wife says we can see neat cars every weekend in the summer but 45-50 SUPERCARS now that is something worth traveling for!! /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif Jim & LaDonna
