Hey y'all, I just joined this board and wanted to pop in and say howdy.

Mopars are my number one interest but I have always had a thing for Yenkos. I have two 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbirds (one 440 four barrel and one 440 six barrel) and a '70 Dodge Charger that will soon be a Daytona clone.

My dream Yenko is a bright green with white interior and stripes and fitted with a set of Torq-Thrust rims. I'll never be able to afford one but I do have a nice '87 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe that is done up as a replica of the Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench #3 NASCAR racer complete with paint, graphics, wheels, tires, etc. that I would like to maybe someday trade towards a Yenko clone. The Monte will be getting a fresh 358 to replace it's weak-in-the-knees 305 in the spring.

Hope y'all don't mind a Mopar fan on y'all's board!

Another SuperStockForum member! Glad to have you, but I do have one small request: any chance of you possibly decreasing the size of the picture in the signature? Good looking car, but that picture eats bandwidth!

Welcome, You'll be hard pressed to find a Rally Green Yenko
(Same Color Formula as Mopars used) with a white interior unless it was a clone, as all the 1969 Yenko Camaros came with a standard black interior.

John I love Superbirds ALMOST as much as I love Yenko's!(sorry guys! /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif ) I know that you couldn't have been at the supercar reunion this past year in September cause I think they had the aero warriors reunion the same day right?

I belonged to that organization for a brief period when I had my 69 Hemi Charger 500....or was that the Winged Warriors ?

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome!

As soon as I get done with this post, I'll go in and change ths size on the sig pic. Sorry it was a bit on the big side! Also, is there any way to turn off the sig pic so that it it isn't on every single post? I usually insert my sig pic in my first post on a thread so as not to take up more bandwidth but I haven't been able to figure out how yet short of deleting it right off of "my home" page.

Sorry about having a blatant picture of not only a non-Yenko but a non-General Motors product! I've always had a strong liking for G.M's and caught a lot of heat at all the various Mopar events for always having some sort of new Chevy or GMC tow rig! This was actually kind of a bummer with the line of work I'm in. I produce and sell videos of all the major Mopar events across the U.S. and the Mopar Video guy shpwing up with race Superbird in tow with a G.M. truck really wasn't cool! I broke down and ordered a 2000 Ram 3500 QuadCab dually with the the 24 valve Cummins Turbo Diesel and really like it a lot so I guess the Mopar masses are off my butt for now!

Stefano, I've known for a long time that I'd never be able to afford a real Yenko and have already resigned myself to the fact that the car would be a clone. That way I could put the white interior in it and do whatever else I wanted to it to make it how I would have wanted one when they were new. So Chevy's Rally Green is really the same as Mopar's F6 Spring Green Metallic? Come to think of it, although Dodge called it Spring Green, Plymouth had their own name for the color, and it was also Rally Green if memory serves me correctly.

There was a big controversy in the Mopar world a few months back about whether or not there were any 1970 Charger Daytonas built. The known production year for the Charger Daytona is 1969. There has long been rumors of there being 3 or 4 1970 Charger R/T's being converted to 1970 Charger Daytonas. These cars were all rumored to have been similarly optioned with 440 Six Pack, 4-speed, Dana 60 rear, vinyl top, power windows and power sunroof. The only differences being the colors of the cars. There is only one car that is actually known to exist with "some" documentation. The last I heard, this car was up for sale for $250,000. Well, to make a long story longer, the controversy has gone an for years now off and on about these cars. I've always kind of followed the '70 Daytona stories and with all of this past summer's renewed interest in the '70 Daytonas, I went and sold my '69 Charger, bought a really nice Go-Mango Orange with orange and white interior, white vinyl top '70 Charger to build my very own '70 Charger Daytona phantom/clone.

The point in that whole long spiel is that's really the only way I'll ever get to own a Yenko is to own a clone. I guess now would be a good time to ask what all of y'all think of clone cars over here. I know a lot of folks are all for em over on Moparts and that there are some folks that are against em.

HvyChev, wow yeah we sure were at the Aero-Warrior reunion in Indianapolis! The race Superbird is still totally street legal and on the Friday of the meet, we split up with the rest of the wing car group to go have lunch with a cutie from off the Moparts board who goes by Dart Girl. Well, when we came out of the restaurant, we were greeted to the fact that a major tornado had just swept thru the area! A '69 Charger R/T, a '69 Charger Daytona and a '70 Superbird all suffered substantial cosmetic paint and glass damage from swirling debris torn off of rooftops as they sat in traffic as the tornado ripped right through the southeast corner of Indianapolis. Pretty heavy stuff to say the least!

Belair62, way cool on owning the Hemi C-500! Those are wickedly cool cars that never got a fair shake due to their more outlandish winged and beaked cousins. What color combo and all was it? I probably know the car! The club you were in probably was the Winged Warriors but the club that had the ill-fated winged car meet this past September was the Daytona-Superbird Auto Club.

Anyways, now that I've gone and gotten long winded, I think I'll go and resize that sig pic now! By the way, below is a rendering a buddy of mine did of what the '70 Daytona phantom is gonna look like.

Darren, dang your car sounds like my dream ride! Do you have any pics of it?

Mr.70, nope I ain't Dennis Tuttle but it's funny ya mentioned ol' Dennis the Menace! If it weren't for ol' Dennis, I would never have found this board! We've been all too familiar with Dennis and his "dealings" over on the Mopar side of the fence. There was a post last week on my "home" board (Moparts) from a brand new user by the name of "1 million". This was Dennis proudly announcing his most recent purchase which was Milt Robson's B5 Bright Blue Metallic '71 Hemi Cuda convertible and three other rare muscle rides. For those that don't know, Milt had the '71 Hemi droptop advertised in last month's Hemmings for a cool $1,000,000. Well ol' Dennis claims to have purchased the Cuda for a million smackeroonies. He even posted a pic of a scribbled out hand-written purchase agreement between he and Milt for $1,300,000 for all four cars. A whole heap of Moparts members kinda jumped on Dennis's case and I guess I was at the forefront of it all as I soon received an email from ol' Dennis hisself with his phone number attached and asking me to call him and tell him just how I happened to supposedly know so much about his affairs. Well, I gave Dennis a ring that night and spent the next hour listening to Dennis carry on about all the cars he has and how he's gonna buy this and he's gonna buy thay and how folks don't like him cuz he's arrogant and that's just too bad and on and on and on he went. Amongst Dennis' claims were having once owned 34 Z11 Indy Pace Car Camaros at one time, how he currently owns nine Hemi Superbirds, six Hemi Daytonas, 2 '70 Hemi Cuda convertibles, the '71 Hemi Cuda convertible he just bought, a '70 Hemi Challenger convertible, etc. He said he had 195 cars all together, all in one building, and that I was welcome to come to Oklahoma at any time to view all the cars. One of the things that didn't jive out of all this was that he claimed he had 195 cars and then claimed to have $3,000,000 in cars. Well, I'm no whiz kid at math but if the '71 Hemi Cuda droptop is worth one of those million and each of the '70 Hemi Cuda convertibles and the '70 Hemi Challenger convertible is $250,000 each figuring conservatively, there's another $750K there. Let's go conservative on all 15 of the Hemi wing cars and say $100K apiece and there's another $1.5 million. This puts us at $3,250,000 right there. What about the other 176 cars he claimed owning??? Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmmm. One last thing Dennis mentioned was having the world's largest ever Mopar auction coming up in March where him and his partner in crime plan on having over 100 Six Pack and Hemi cars on the block. Who the heck got this guy into cars anyway? Well, anyhow, the point to all this babbling is that one of y'all emailed me with a link to a thread here last week about the thread on Moparts. When I came over here to check it out, I was like "wow what a cool board!" Now here I am, up to my neck in a full blown concours resto on my yellow 440 Six Pack 4-speed Superbird, trying to pull off doing a phantom/clone Daytona buildup project and with a race Superbird that is in serious need of some cosmetics! Then what happens? I come over to this board, look at some of the cool rides y'all own, and the fuse gets lit for the desire to own a bad-assed Camaro! As I said before, there's no way I can afford a real one but a clone may be within reach!

Orlando, thanks! I had my sig pic up but have to resize it to fit the page better so I temporarily removed it from my sig file. I fell asleep before I had a chance to do it last night! It'll be back up in a bit!
