For the 69 year only , was there ever headrests used on these seats?
Or for that matter, were headrests ever used at all on this option? /ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif

I believe, as of January 1, 1969, headrests were federally mandated. They had been optional since 1966.

My 69 Chevelle bench has the headrests, March build date. I do believe the bench headrests are different than the bucket headrests as well, but not 100% sure.

I believe bench was not an option in 69, just 67-68.

Assuming you are talking about Chevelle bench seats then the answer is yes, they were available as RPO A82. They were optional in 67-69 and federally mandated beginning 01-01-69 but I have never seen an original 69 Chevelle without them, bench or bucket. (That does not mean they do not exist) They are different than the ones used on the bucket seats and each year was by itself as far as design. So 69 headrests are a one year only design and it could be as simple as the post being different for them not to interchange.

If you are talking Camaro bench seats then you are only dealing with 67-68 and the headrests were the same between bench and bucket. The backs of the front seats used the same frame for both bench and bucket. However each year headrest was a different design..................RatPack................

I meant to breakdown the years of A82 headrests as it was not shown optional on the Chevelle in 1969. According to my records they were std for all bench seat models and bucket seat models that year.............RatPack..............
