Question regarding the 1974 Chevy " Spirit of America" cars. Anyone recall these? I owned a 74 Nova "Spirit of America" back in 78. I have seen this in the Impala also. I have heard that it was availible in the Camaro and Chevelle in 74. These were limited production. Qurious, could these cars be classified as COPOs? They were Special Paint, Special Stripes and Decals and Special Interior. If i recall, They were all painted White w/ red and blue pinstripes, Spirit of America w/ eagle decal on front fenders, White interior w/ red and blue stripes. No performance options. Anyone have production figures on these cars?

Nice cars, but they were not COPOs, the option was just regular production. RPO-Z51 I think. According to Scott Windle's web site, 14,463 Novas were made with this option. I have seen several, but I have never seen any of the Impalas, so they are probably rarer. I think I have seen one Vega, but it was a long time ago. Here's a link to a flyer from Chevrolet describing the option.

There were a BOAT load of these cars in the Cleveland area.I know of a Impala convert stored away, one owner and mint. Not quite sure what it is worth, but a nice ride for a 74 Imp though.......
