I saw they have 2 COPO's for sale at http://www.wagnersclassiccars.com/ and I was wondering if anybody knows about these cars. The brown one looks to be an extremely late COPO(11A), is it the latest one if it's real?

The orange one looks pretty nice. I kind of like all the touches with all the factory markings, stamps, and overspray. A couple of questions for the exact in every detail factory correct guys. First did GM actually use a date stamp like that in the wheel well? And was their really that much over spray esp. in areas like that front hose, that far into the underside, and that far down the firewall covering half the trim tag?
The burnished brown one looks good to except that color is...... Sorry to anyone that has one!! /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif What was GM thinking! I guess that was the norm back then like when some of you (or my grandparents) had those god awfull avacado green appliances back in the day! /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif
There was an Orange COPO Camaro at Chevs & Vettes Auction last November here in St.Charles Il.
It looks like the same one.Stefano do you know?

The Hugger Camaro with the L72 427/M40 was at the Mecum auction, both the Brown and Hugger Camaros have been discussed previously.

Oops, didn't mean to bring up any old threads and start trouble. I thought the 11A looked like a real late date on the Brown car. Is there any known documentation saying when the COPO's could no longer be ordered or were they still available until the end of the 69 run?

If anybody's interested, I don't live too far from there. I would think he'd take them to Barrett Jackson.

The brown COPO was discussed extensively on this site. It was the one found in a junk yard in West Virginia. It has a very dubious pedagree!!!!!!!!!

I was looking at a brown metallic COPO from wagners today at the Kruse auction. I leafed through the info on the car. Had cert., I do not remember seeing a POP. Looked like a nice car,but was pretty dark in the tent. I took some video of the car, maybe I will be able to see the body plate in the video. Info said it was owned by Reggie. They were looking for 80k. I didn't see alot of bidders, seems alot of cars were not being sold, at least not like last year.

If I remember right Reggie did have a Burnished brown camaro that was suppose to
Be a copo . Not sure if I am right /ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif but I think some thing was not right about it and Reggie sold it as a clone I think this is the car that was here discussed over a year ago

I saw the Brown car today. There is no paperwork. Funny thing is...In a Binder about the car that was under the hood were two time slips. These just happen to be copies of time slips that I had found under the Dash of my old Silver COPO. When I traded the COPO to Mike Ryan toward ZL1 18 he posted pics of the time slips on his Web page. I think they are still on his page. So apparently somebody has downloaded them from Ryan's Web page and printed them out. Now they are trying to pass them off as History to this wonderful car. You have no idea how excited I was to see them under the hood of this Bogus car.

But Reggie owned it, it must be legit! Now that's a complete sleeper, especially without the "camaro" emblems.

Now you're speaking my language, Charley! How about all the dirty details on the time slips? Any idea in what "condition" the runs were made in? You mentioned they might be up on a website somewhere...got an addy?

I had found 6 time slips crammed under one of the dash pad clips when I was tearing the car apart. The 11.50 was the best one. I know at one time it had a roll bar that was Brazed to the galvanized plates under the carpet. Also had the rear wheel lips rolled under. Doa search for ZL1 or COPO and you should find Mike Ryans site.

Thanks for posting the info, Charley. It's nice to see that the Mule isn't tieing up ALL of your free time! I'm guessing you haven't returned it because of "boredom" yet.../ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif
