Hello All,

It has been a long time since I have visited your site and it looks great as ever.

I am from HTR (Hot Teams Racing) and I am checking to see if anyone here is interested in a heads up match with a stock appearing Mopar. This race will take place in Phoenix AZ on March7th and it is FREE and it is to benefit local causes and charity. There is no purse however.

On the 7th the Mopar Team is competing 5 cars against 5 GM cars on that date. What has happened is we have a very nice example of MOpar Muscle from the 60's that will be in town and wants to compete but the GM Team does not currently have a car of this caliber to compete faily and I am hoping that someone from here maybe close enough to give it some thought.

The car is a 1967 Hemi GTX on G70-14 Bias ply tires. This car is running stock manifolds, induction etc. We would love to see this car compete and you would be on a temporary team of 5 GM guys.

Please let me know if you are interested and I will answer any questions I can about it. You can check out the web site at www.outrunU.com (http://www.outrunU.com)

Thanks alot
john

douhhhh !

somebody knows him /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif
Yes, his name is Joel and his specs can be found on the HTR site by clicking on Multi-state, his car number is M2-MN
Very few cars are listed on the Multi-state page, the rest are under AZ.

Everthing is negotiable, even the tires but we prefer to have both cars on stock tires.

As far as ET, he is a bit faster than stock but I am not at liberty to say his exact ET nor do I know it (honestly).

Both match details must be agreed to by both the MOpar and the GM team captains. Mopar is Bill Taebel and GM is Mike Brimbic.

Did you hear that, Pete?! A bit faster than stock! Sounds like they are fishing for a sucker! HA! Just kidding, John!

Pete and I have seen Joel run in person, and I believe he is in the 11.70s@124+. Terry (BigDog) also cruises this site, and he runs the same series as Joel, with his ZL-1 Camaro. As for his times, lets just say he is quicker than that Hemi!

It sounds like a fun event, but the main problem I see is the location. Most of the stock, and stock appearing, racers reside in the Eastern part of the U.S., but there are getting to be some guys from West of the Mississippi as well. But, here's what I would suggest: cruise over to THIS SITE (http://www.v8buick.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=36), which is where the stock and stock appearing racers hang out, and post your "proposition".

Good luck, and feel free to ask any questions!

There is an article in the current issue of car craft which describes such a Mopar Running 123mph through the traps, but no E.T.?

Let's just say that, I'm doing a little work on the ZL1 to get ready for next year /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif I might have it done by march but AZ is a very long haul to spank a HEMI or two. /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

Well, I now have ET info on Joels car and yes it is a peppy one /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

I don't know what he would run at our track and altitude but we are an NHRA track and require a bar at under 12.0. Also HTR rules state that you can not receive any win points if you go faster than your legal tech. This is new for 2003 so it looks like that will place what could be called an artifical index on the racers.
Our race points are structred 3pts for the win light, 2pts for best reaction time and 1pt for participation (basically showing a time slip). A read light results i 1pt only.

Thanks for site info and I will check it out as soon as I get time.

Looks like we may have a local interested in the match. I will let you guys know what that match is as I get more details.

Michigan, Ohio, or Arizona. All of them are a little far for me. Although, I would have to say it is closer to me than say...Hawaii! /ubbthreads/images/icons/cool.gif

I'll be your huckleberry /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif but not on polyglas. Mine looks stock as long as you don't open the hood. Phoenix ain't too far from me. What's the appearance fee? Hey, if it's enough, I do have a set of Wide Ovals. /ubbthreads/images/icons/cool.gif

69rss,

The bad news is there is no purse or trophy, we all do this just for the fun and charity. BUT if your team wins (season) you win money for a lucky automotive service student that gets a small scholarship. If your team loses then that student gets squat... /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif It is FREE to enter however, you just pay normal track entry fee ($15).

Actually you could win a pair of Spin Tech muffler will be awarded to the seasons best reaction time but you are already up against some tough competition there.

Go to this web page
http://www.outrunu.com/SignUp.html
and fill out the form. Everyone that wants to be considered for a match has to tell the same 10 basic details about their car. You must tell tire type and size as the label reads, if you have a bar or cage, true cubic inch (no over bore sizes necessary), is it state licensed, induction type, N20 or not and I think thats about it. However, I can tell you that if you have a roll bar or a cage that the Mopar Team captain will never go for that but you are still welcome to list your car for other consideration or matches in this or other seasons. Also, if I remember correctly there are a couple of listing on the multi-state spec sheet from NM already and one is a hemi challenger, I think. Anyway you can list your car even if you don't end up racing.

The dead line for this matchup for you, Joel and both team captains to all agree is sometime this weekend. Your team captain (Mike) is the one you can confide in about your ET and car capabilities. Well, you can tell me too, I'm good with secrets /ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

The race is Feb 7th on a normal test and tune night. The two teams will test and tune up until 9:00 and race at 9:30pm.
Some lodging details and area attraction information will be going out to those few that are coming from out of town.
