Charley, Who did the resto?

Charley Lillard

I dunno.. I just spent a couple hours under it with a Steam Cleaner and I'm not sure if they did much more than paint it. Underneath had either years of grease or Undercoating that mostly came of with the Steam Cleaning. I will try to post pics but my Internet connectionis giving me fits. Floors are nice.

Mark Bulah sent me DMV copies of some of the owner History on the Yenko. Some owners you will recognize, maybe sombody knows some of the lessor knowns...Jonn D Knopsinder of Paris ohio sold it to Dorothy Carey of Chicago in August of 73. Dorothy sold it in 78 to Randy Barone of Chicago. Randy sold it to Paul Vonschoech Jr of Murray Ky in 83. Paul sold it to Mick Price, Atwood Il in 85. The mileage at that time was 48855. Mick sold it to Earl Haubrich, Bloomington Mn 6/15/85,, miles were 48883. Miles are now 50030.

Earl,
I know you read these posts so correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you had this Camaro at the same Viking Chevrolet show in the mid 80's when I first started showing my Nova Convertible. I remember Earl leaving the show in the Yenko and seems to me Earl, you beat that Corvette you raced! Earl and I are planning on getting a local Nova chapter going here in MN. So start looking at your calander Earl, we need to start getting busy.

I also believe there was a Yenko Chevelle at this same show. First time I ever saw a Yenko Chevelle. It was neat seeing 2 Yenkos at the same show!

Charley, was this the car that was in Wa. for a while? If so do you know the story of how it ended up here? Did someone from up here actually own it? Jim

Charley Lillard
02-21-2003, 02:20 PM
Yes Jim. It has been in Woodinville Wa since 98. It came there from Cliff Ernst. I assume this is one of the Yenko's Cliff had while he had one of every color as I have photos of it in a room with a bunch of other Yenko's.

NWYENKO
02-21-2003, 02:25 PM
Interesting! Have you talked to the person in Woodinville? Did not know the car was around. Did the guy ever take it out? Since we do so many shows around here I am surprised no one ever mentioned this car!! Was it just consigned at the place you made your "convaluted trade"? Jim

Charley Lillard
02-21-2003, 05:44 PM
No it wasn't consigned. My Friend Bob bought it out of Woodinville.

mnyenko
02-23-2003, 07:23 PM
I sold the car to Cliff Ernst in the fall of 1986.Got $14,500 for it.Made a profit of $2,500.Bought a new 1987 red iroc-z, 350 tpi.No t-tops, no air, am radio.Paid $14,500 for it.Still have it today with 23,000 miles.I told my 14 year old son it could be his first hot rod......He would rather have the Yenko.Earl

Charley Lillard
02-24-2003, 04:11 AM
Well Earl...I think you should just buy it for him... Do you remember the Mileage on it when you sold it to Cliff ?

mnyenko
02-24-2003, 01:11 PM
Charley,
I do not remember the exact mileage. But 48,000 seems about right.I had the car for two seasons and drove it about 1,500
miles. It is amazing how many people around here remember the car.It would look good sitting next to our green deuce.
Earl
