Thought I would post this one I came across. Seller claims it to be big block and possible COPO. I see Z28 emblems. I'm sure someone knows more about this one.

Hi; I bought this car for its present owner at Charlotte in April. All of the indications lead it to be. It has been discussed, thrashed and burned here , however no one has ruled it out. All of the COPO items that are unique to a x-11 - D80 car are present except for the rear which the man I bought it from changed for drivability(4:88). I offered big money for it and may have it shortly. I even offered to buy the car its in to get it. you can find more on this car back on page 12 or so. Jim /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Hi; The car is from South East of Charleston. The car spent its life in that area. It was drag raced and had no emblems on it when it was purchased. I have the previous owners info. I just tried to contact (busy). I will let you know anything new. What dealers in that area had a history of ordering COPO cars?. Thanks Jim /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Roger Dean was the premier Hipo Chevy dealer in Charleston at the time and got the first 2 Copo's around. Joe Holland Chev was rumored to have one but never saw any proof. Was it a dealer in Charleston or another town?

Dean would be my bet.I have been researching this dealer for some time.Very tough to find info on or the employees from there.Dealer closed/bought out in 1971.I have a small list of salesmen, unfortunatly most if not all are gone.

I recently looked at a documented Copo that is also a late (8D) built X11 D80 car from West Virginia. The body number is 107741, 2 away from this car and likely from the same dealer order. As of yesterday the car was still for sale. Any more history on the car Jim?

Would that happen to be the car with the body sequence of 107739?
