When I was at Pitt in the late 60s, Pitt had a road race car. I seem to remember it as a Camaro, but I'm not sure. I probably had a Duke Beer hangover when I saw it. Brian, or other Pennsylvanians, do you know anything about this car?

I grew up in the area but do not remember a "road race car" at Pitt?

It was blue yellow, sort of like the Penske Camaro. The driver was a student at Pitt....that's all I remember.
The car is around, I believe it's a 69(can't really remember for sure). I've seen it at Lime Rock in the vintage races last year or the year before.

Guess what?
I was just watching Dream Car Garage, and they did a piece on the Pitt race car. It was blue and white, not blue and yellow, as I remembered. As Rick says, it is fully restored and is somewhere around Lime Rock. I missed the beginning of the piece, so I'm not sure of the details. It was somehow associated with Penske. I think Penske helped the driver, who was a student in 69 and 70, obtain and set up the car.
Cool.....I can't wait for the repeat.
I have in my Yenko notes that the Pitt U racing team ran a car in the 1977 24hr Daytona race. drivers were Bob Fryer, Ed Lowther, and Don Yenko

Dream Car mentioned that it had raced at the 24 hours of LeMans, but I did not know Don had raced it!!
Anyone know who owns it now, and how to get in touch with him? I'd love to talk to him.
