OK Sorry. Feeling a little reckless tonight! There has never to my knowledge been a X22 COPO or Yenko Camaro found or documented!

Pete. CRG might have some listed since this is straight frm their site.
*COPO Camaros were an exception, as there were certain
COPOs built out of bodies coded with X11 or X44, in
addition to those built using X22 and X66 codes.

Jeff, so are you saying it is possible? I know for a fact that this was an original BB car.

There has been some early X66 Yenkos documented, but not aware of any X22 Yenko's. Maybe Kurt can fill us in on his findings!

Peter is right Kurt S would have to tell us if any have been recorded or not. Im just saying from the way the CRG reads there might be a few out there recorded or not. Now if you had the POP go go with the car that would help greatly

Well Jeff, now if I had the POP I woulndn't be asking this question, would I? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yeah you would. With the repo POP's out there the imprint on the plate is a different size than an orginal POP /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is one of 2 69 Camaros I found today. 1 in excellent restorable condition, the other is solid but rough, I don't have the time or inclination nor dollars to mess with it. I am keeping them both for now.

Jeff, Are you venturing out into the deep waters we were discussing in the PM's? Careful, the ice is thin and the water is deep, the hot seat would not be the same type you would use for ice fishing!

I am about as far out in the water as one can get being in the middle of the Pacific. As for Ice fishing dont see much of that around here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

RSSS. Take a valium and relax, "All Good Thigs Come To Those Who Wait". I have been doing my homework and as soon as I can break away from the faster by the day spinning flywheel of life I will be doing a road trip, that is if it ever quits snowing up here! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif It's not like someone else is going to zoom in and buy it out from underneath me anyway! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif But, the worse the economy gets, the better the chance of obtaining any of this luxury/hobby type stuff. I know you guys dont want to hear that, but with the current state of world affairs the current market in this hobby could very well taper off in the near future. On the brighter side, as long as there are big boys wanting bad a$$ toys, the market will bounce back should it suffer at all from global chaos.

There has been one documented X22 COPO Camaro and no X66 Copos other than Yenkos found ,documented or verified to date.
Ed Cuneen's COPO book references the X22 Code COPO, which belongs to a club Member.
Why would you think it was a COPO or Yenko by the vin and trim tag?
Jeff H
03-06-2003, 01:40 AM
There are no Yenko's shown to have 588xxx as a VIN. The latest shown in that range would be 587xxx. I don't believe there were any X22 Yenkos either. There were X66 Yenkos but they appear to all be 01B cars. Remember, Yenko ordered his cars as stripped down cars with standard interior and usually no exterior trim so an X22 trim car wouldn't fit in place with his first order of cars.

Stefano, it wasn't the VIN or trim tag that got my curiosity up (well maybe some). Other things...may be, may be not. I am content to wait and research at this point. Money sure isn't a factor as I "jumped over" these two cars. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Man you guys know so much information it is unreal! I got lost at COPO /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif Jeff stay away from the ice fishing,I had some guys from Minn.Down here in Texas one time on a job and they all could not wait to get back home to ice fish. When the came back after the Christmas holidays they brought me some pictures.I don't want to go a mile out on a FROZEN LAKE fishing, with my luck it would start to MELT on me!!One thing about it you don't have to buy any ice to keep any cold drinks or beer cold. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I would rather be where you are fishing, nice sun, warm breeze and man oh man those Grass Skirts!

I don't know of any X22 COPO's. Not sure of the one that Stefano is referring to, but it's not in the database.
Little errors (like the X22 thing) alway creep into the site........
#'s show that no way that car is a COPO. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The X22 Code Copo which I was referring to ,I believe belongs to Bob and Larry Adock.
The info I have shows that it was sold out of Courtesy Chevrolet in Sebring Ohio.
It is an early 01B car with 713 Trim and 72 72 Paint with X22.

As Stefano says, there is one fully documented X-22 COPO Camaro in the COPO Connection registry. I know of no other one built. X22 was the code used for Big Block Super Sports with Style Trim. Yenko's first batch of 50 cars did not have Style Trim, so they received X66 codes. Later orders were changed to X11 and X44 codes.

To my knowledge, the Adcock brothers' daytona yellow yenko camaro is an X44 body, and was sold out of Bob Johnson Chevrolet in Wausau, WI.

Its is a X44 the D/Yellow Yenko that is and now in the Southwest
Stefano
I show the same info as Marlin said.
I was parked next to them at Indy in 01 and remember the D/Y Camaro well.
I believe I showed you a picture of it last Summer.
Is this the same Camaro you are referring to??

Bob sold the yellow Yenko and now him and his brother have two Hugger orange COPOs, they are fresh frame off restos and one is the X-22 full documentation on both. He is bringing one to Indy this year, I hope I can talk him into bringing both!!!

Marlin,
I never said it was a Yenko, and code 72 72 is not Daytona Yellow. You'll have to look up the trim /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifOnly you could read what I posted and put a spin on it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
Rick,
This Car was also at the last Vest Fest. Gold Spinner Winner. Very Cool option Combo, gorgeous car.
Barry,
The COPO tires listed on the build sheet didn't make the car a COPO. I trust that it also showed the L72 427 engine and 4.10 special rear gears /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
AAHH..I see now.
I didn't know Bob had sold the D/Yellow,and Bought two Huggers.
Thanks Tom B. and Stefano for clearing all that up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
