I don't know if the bumper sticker is real or not but that seller is one of the guys selling the fake Yenko valve covers so that would raise the red flag in my opinion.

The Bumper Sticker in the photo is 100% authentic and came from the Original owner of a Nickey Chevrolet Corvette.

That is one cool piece. Stefano around what year do you think that sticker is from?

I wouldn't have admited this but I put a max bid in on this sticker of $203.00 and would have paid it. If it was not someone on this site that out bid me I think that this seller is practicing shay bidding!!! I have kept my eye on his auctions and he always has some redicules amount of bids on all of his items. He ALWAYS does private auctions which before my own recent personal e-bay nightmare I frowned upon. I think that it would be OK now but with this seller I am suspicious.

Richard, $200 bumper sticker, hard to find item, bet it brings more. I have an auction going on tonight that I will post on this site for a near NOS Nickey Stinger hood with the original near NOS GM SS427 emblems, and the original hood pins with a Buy It Now of $1995.00. So with $200 brooms, $2000 hoods, $2200 steering wheels, $3200 distributors, anything is possible on this unused bumper sticker. Might be one of the only ones left in the world.

The Chi-town guys will appreciate this one.

motown, is that the hood you just bought for $250 from MN? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Same hood, but I didnt buy it, traded a hood for it, with shipping both ways I got a little over six bills in it, but this is what I do for a living...we all got to make one, right? That is one of the beauties of America, we are all free to buy what we want when we want, and to do the same when selling. Kind of like that Yenko Camaro up your way, the reason it doesnt have a new owner is because the present owner has not chose to sell and seems like nobody can change his mind. I can remember times when I almost got to buy something in this business and just missed it to someone else (right joe?), sometimes I have even went back and bought what I almost missed from the earlier bird and paid much more. That is the nature of the beast, or business should I say. This is the same type of hood I recently sold to another board member here which I also made money on, that had created quite a controversy off line with a third party who wanted it and wasnt quick enough, well if that party is done having a temper tantrum now he has a chance at another one. This is the nicest I have ever seen anywhere. I put a high price, which considering what this stuff is selling for these days doesnt seem high, because this hood is so nice I am actually hoping it doesnt sell, but as the old saying goes, everything has a price. This hood with hardware is an original that has been sitting for years and seen very little, if any, use. So it will have to be somebody who wants it worse than I do. Below is the link to the auction, will be fun to watch if nothing else. Heck, maybe I will just buy the bumper sticker, couple more parts and an emblem here or there and I would have a Nickey clone! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks,

MM that would be a nice profit and I hope you get it. The internet and Ebay have opened up unlimited opportunity for both buyers and sellers. I think with the enthusiasm in the collector car market and the limited availability of good, correct parts the buyers feel that they have to get it while they can even if it cost a little (or a lot) more than what they would like to pay. Regardless they should not bid or pay more than they are comfortable with and not get caught up in the process. I've missed some items that I would of loved to had, but didn't want to own at all costs. As long as they can afford it, enjoy it, and sleep at night, what more could you ask. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

So guess you will need my address to send my cut from the sale since I posted it in the for sale section and soon after you posted it as sold /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Richard, actually my reserve is $500 less than the "Buy It Now" option, if somebody wants to use that option so nobody else has a shot at it, they have that option. After cost and listing fees etc, I will double if it hits reserve, if not, as I said I wouldnt mind keeping it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jeff, I would have bet money that was coming from you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif! Nobody realizes the risk you take when you buy something without seeing it or a photo from a guy who isnt sure what he has! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I may have got the old "Lets Make A Deal" proverbial "Door #2 Zonk"! So Jeff, I am still waiting on your phone call. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Give me a ring.

Jeff, you will need mine to send me money to comfort my loss from you not sending the lead directly to me as I was only 45 minutes away from this hood. I haven't slept since. motown, i was just asking a question. I am not one to pass judgement on what is right and what is wrong. There are others here who will do so. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For what the person was asking for it and all if i had known it was a true hood it woud have been sitting here under a palm tree instead. Besides i already got blasted /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif for not forwarding it to others first. Guess Ill just have to start a parts house somewhere on the mainland. Maybe Nevada!!1 Nice dry climate and when I want to i can still go look at a beach a very big beach /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Jeff you know that you wouldn't be starting a parts house back here in your home in IL. It is like the frozen tundra here. Yesterday it was 2*! You got the right idea with just staying in paradise.

I talked to a friend in Cicero IL who tells me this bumper sticker was around 72 or 73 when the government started screaming gas shortage and wanted to do away with high performance gas guzzling cars, Nickey supposedly went on the defensive and this sticker was one of their tactics. It is nice to know the government has not won in thirty years and we still have our cars!

Hey Motown,I think you are selling the hood TOO CHEAP compared to some of the other items that are being sold for BIG BUCKS! I agree with you on you have to make a living, and bottom line it's your hood and get all you can for it.Hell it all depends on supply and demand anyway /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifI would bet that if in other's hands it would be HIGHER.Now I am not refering to anyone in particular SO PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY NASTY E MAILS TO ME THIS COMMENT IS NOT DIRECTED TOWARD ANY INDIVIDUAL!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif but think what it would cost if say A classic parts company had it for sale! Or a Car restoration Shop! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I don't know about that he seems to have a very positive attitude and his theory of the owner riding a HARLEY around for a while with his crew, then MO trading the Harley for the Yenko just might work.If that don't work I bet MO don't give up on it!I think with the attitude that he has he will wind up with it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gifHey and MO it must be the GOOD OLE TEXAS BAR B QUE that makes us old TEXANS tick /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
