I was e-mailed about some parts for sale and he wanted to send a check for 5,000 over the amount, purportedly from a "client" and send him the cash to Africa via Western Union.
The Red light went off when he emailed and said his wife was in the hospital and needed $$, when I implicitly stated that the check has to clear. I didn't lose out, but I want to report this to fellow auto buffs. There are enough jerkoff's in this hobby that we have to contend with. I don't consider this bashing, I consider this courteously informing, so watch out for any interest in cars or parts you have from South Africa..............Joel /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

I've seen them as well and forwarded them to the appropriate government people. They are so obvious that I'm amazed at anyone actually falls them.

I got 3 from the same guy within 2 weeks but diff story every time. I think that they must look at sites like this one and others get your e mail address and try to offer you a great deal on BS. This guy want to give me a cashers check for 2000.00 and for my time I could keep 20% over what I was sopposed to get. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif Well I still have my money but I hope that no one eles gets riped by theses scams. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
